March 22, 201016 yr ^! Phillies lost against Baltimore yesterday. They used new pitchers... crappy pitchers. It ended like 5-1 or something like that. :uhoh: I was suprised how well Jaime did, though.
March 22, 201016 yr ^Jamie Moyer's age. Your mom's not old at all. Jamie's just too old for baseball. :P And by the way, I just applied for a reception job at Citizens Bank Park. :cheesy: I have no idea who it's for or what I'd do in particular, but, I want it. :freak:
March 23, 201016 yr ^Thanks! :D Phils beat the Yankees yesterday! Boston got killed by Tampa. Hope the Phillies get revenge for the BoSox today. EDIT: By the way, I'm going to go ahead and put it out there early.... I'm liking the Twins to go far this year. They were shut out so terribly by the Yankees last year, I'm thinkin' they'll be hot with anger. Plus, they have Joe Mauer, the like, richest and most amazing catcher that's ever lived. :freak:

March 24, 201016 yr $184 million extension, maaaaan. :freak: I know. :stunned: That's 23 million a year. He's gotta be one of the highest paid right now, if not the highest. EDIT: Phililes won again yesterday, Boston lost again. :uhoh:
March 24, 201016 yr This raises the question: Is it worth it? I mean, I know Joe Mauer is awesome, but spending that much money on ONE person? I'm sorry, but I sometimes find stuff like that to be a bit ridiculous.
March 25, 201016 yr This raises the question: Is it worth it? I mean, I know Joe Mauer is awesome, but spending that much money on ONE person? I'm sorry, but I sometimes find stuff like that to be a bit ridiculous. The combination of his age, power, and defense at the catcher position makes it worth it.
March 25, 201016 yr I guess you could debate either way. I mean, it seems to me that baseball is becoming more "love of the money" than "love of the game" with these players being paid all these outrageous amounts. My opinion. EDIT: By the way, Violet, Phils and Astros play today. :cheesy:
March 25, 201016 yr The combination of his age, power, and defense at the catcher position makes it worth it. I don't think you can really come to that conclusion until he gets through the 8 years that his extension covers. I mean, yeah, he's been great so far, but what if something were to happen and he suddenly isn't so great anymore, you know? Maybe I'm just a pessimist. Or maybe I'm just jealous. :P I guess you could debate either way. I mean, it seems to me that baseball is becoming more "love of the money" than "love of the game" with these players being paid all these outrageous amounts. My opinion. EDIT: By the way, Violet, Phils and Astros play today. :cheesy: I agree with that completely. This is precisely why I despise franchises like the Yankees. They're concentrated more on using their monetary assets to buy off great players than using their coaching staff to better what they already have. It's disappointing, really. Oh, and the Phils are goin' DOWN today. I'm just sayin'. :P
March 25, 201016 yr When does the season start? there's almost never mention of baseball in Norwegian media except in Aftenposten.
March 25, 201016 yr :( That's so long....oh, wait it's a little more than a week :blank: Why do I still think it's february?

I think the Yankees were really the first ones who started to make baseball about just buying the best players and winning a few dozen World Series. Anyone who's on the Yankees is a sellout. Pfft, you Astro's better watch your back. :smug:
March 25, 201016 yr :( That's so long....oh, wait it's a little more than a week :blank: Why do I still think it's february? :laugh4: It's OK. Sucks, doesn't it? I think the Yankees were really the first ones who started to make baseball about just buying the best players and winning a few dozen World Series. Anyone who's on the Yankees is a sellout. Pfft, you Astro's better watch your back. :smug: Exactly. Yeah, we will watch our backs...watch our backs for all the awesome fans that will cheer once we beat Philly. WUT.
March 25, 201016 yr Well, we're 11-9, and you're 10-8, so there. :smug: ...Wait, we're 3-6 on the road!? And you guys are 7-3 at home!? :freak: ... Maybe this won't turn out like I want it to. :disappointed:
March 25, 201016 yr D'aww, don't worry. We're basically even, so it could go either way. But if we use new pitchers then you guys have this one in the bag. :freak:
