Yet another electric guitar question

Featured Replies

So I've been getting VERY into Muse. I've been looking for a guitar that sounds like Mansons, but I can do a lot of other stuff on. I'm also thinking of getting a KAOSS pad, would a Les Paul be suitable?

I wouldn't recommend a Les Paul personally. It wouldn't give you the look, feel sound and "grunt" that Matt has with his guitar.

Yamaha RGX-A2

You could go for the Yamaha RGX-A2, looks good and sounds pretty impressive in this video. There's even room for your Kaoss Pad :):

The only thing is it doesn't have a whammy bar, but maybe there is a model similar with one(or get it installed). The other thing is I haven't played this guitar before, however the reviews @ Ulimate-Guitar give a very positive score:

This guitar costs $400-500 from what I read.

Ibanez GSA-60

The other one I also like is the Ibanez GSA-60 as used in this video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o47kzszKlPk]YouTube- Knights of Cydonia (Muse)[/ame]

I have been told this guitar has quite a good whammy system which doesn't do too much detuning of the strings. I know someone who has this guitar and he has never had a problem with it. Again the reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar are pretty positive:

I hope that helped :)

Hmmmm, those sound good, if I only wanted to do Muse influenced stuff. Would they be versatile in most ways (mainly look and sound) for Muse stuff and Indie Rock?

I should think so. Both are based on the Fender Stratocaster so they should be fine :)

Yes, that is correct. Originally it was a DJ effects unit, but some 'Ideas Man' decided it could be used on the guitar. It can be bought seperately, Matt Bellamy from Muse has one on his Manson guitar, a different brand from Yamaha. They do look expensive, looking on Ebay would be a good idea :)
