As I was listening to some of Coldplay's b-sides tonight, it made me wonder: what if the b-sides were put on albums, and some of Coldplay's biggest hits were only b-sides?

 

What if Clocks was replaced with Murder?

 

What if Fix You was replaced with How You See the World?

 

Wouldn't it be odd?

Yes, it would.

We wouldn't even know for sure since it didn't happen.... it's just like when some of us think some bsides should have been in their albums.

Actually, some of the b-sides are better than some of the songs on the albums. :lol:

Well, now that Clocks is a big hit and you hear it everywhere, I prefer Crests Of Waves. But if Crests Of Waves was the big hit that wason the album and Clocks was just a B-side, I'd probably be wondering why it didn't make its way to the album, so.. Either way, same case. :D

I don't like Crests of Waves, but The World Turned Upside-Down and Sleeping Sun are awesome. But I don't want any original X&Y songs off the album though. Why didn't they release an EP back then? Or just make the original X&Y album half an hour longer or something

That's very interesting. . . As much as I'd like for some of the b-sides to be on the album, I can't think of a song I'd like them to replace. Except maybe X&Y. I don't really like that song :sick:

Clocks is not one of my favourite songs, but I think it is a really well-made song. I think they could have replaced X&Y, What if and twisted logic.

 

And I insist See you soon should have been on an LP :bigcry:

I preffer See You Soon...but musically Clocks is better. The piano arrangements are just awesome...

Considering my two favorite songs are Glass of Water and I Ran Away, Coldplay would still be my favorite band even if not one of the LP's existed. :nice:

Yeah. I also think that those three songs are structured very similarly, so listening to them is repetitive.

I Ran Away should have been on AROBTTH.

It is hands down my most favorite Coldplay song EVER!!! :D

Basically, I love Crests of Waves and I ran away much more than Clocks or X&Y. And I think everyone agrees that Moses should have been on an LP, or at least on one of the B-sides.

If it hadn't been for Politik, I'm convinced I Ran Away would have been the opener for AROBTTH.
