What sort of debut do you mean?

Like if someone was doing Coldplay, would they put Parachutes or would they put Safety?

Do solo artists count? Like if I wanted to include Paul McCartney's/Panda Bear/Thom Yorke/Etc. first solo album?

I'm definitely going to up updating/changing mylist:

there are a lot of debut albums I have yet to listen to still.

personally I'm only counting full length albums. like Arcade Fire released an EP before Funeral, but I still am counting Funeral as their first album since it is their first full length album.

I like that list so far :)

And...Solo Artists do count :)

So...you could do Thom Yorke's debut AND the Radiohead debut.

Oh okay, makes sense.

So you would also count full albums an artist made before they got signed to a label and such too, right?

Hmm...I'm not sure about that, for example, didn't MGMT release an album before Oracular Spectacular???

Would it be controversial to say that Parachutes should be excluded?

can this board be trusted to see that parachutes is a pretty good debut album but was hardly ground breaking or amazing songwriting? it would definitely make the top 20, quite possibly the top ten.

or will everyone here just vote that number one because they have uber love for coldplay? i'm not saying nobody should put parachutes as number one but if everyone is going to do it it seems a bit blinkered given some of the other debut albums out there.

it is a coldplay MB after all so I think either way Parachutes will be higher than it probably should be.

not saying I don't like Parachutes, it's definitely one of their best albums.

Hmm, you know, that's actually a good point.

Question:

Is it acceptable to use first proper studio albums in our lists? Because if so, I'd like to edit mine:P

For We Are Scientists which would you accept:
