it's a little patchy but there are some corkers on there

at 14 songs long if he had trimmed it a little it could have been very very good but it's well worth a listen as it is for the gems.

Incidentally, anybody who does not put Grace by Jeff Buckley in at least the top ten has been fundamentally doing it wrong. Just a reminder.

Best list so far, although Coldplay and Badly Drawn Boy wouldn't be on mine, on a side not The Slim Shady LP wasn't his first album, I'm not even a big fan and I know that:P

i didn't realise infinite counted but i suppose it does. i went for his first major label album so yeah strike it from the list. i presumed infinite wasn't a proper album.

and i wouldn't class myself as a fan. especially when he tries to be serious, and almost everything after marshall mathers lp

it's not a genre i spend much time delving into deeply or even listening to on a regular basis but there are things to be take from every genre out there. or almost every genre.

I think your list is really good, I would like to add Gish by The Smashing Pumpkins it was a good rock album and a good debut.

that was an album i decided against putting in, simply because i hadn't heard it enough but it was well considered and would have easily made the top 50

and thank you

Question 2:

With regarding to the who, would you accept "The Who Sings My Generation" as well as "My Generation"?

The Who Sings My Generation was their American Debut which had a different tracklisting to the UK's My Generation

i'll have to give it some more listens before the time runs out then. i can't remember quite a few of the songs but once i'm reminded it will at least be able to become 39th. i can see it being higher though of course

Question 2:

With regarding to the who, would you accept "The Who Sings My Generation" as well as "My Generation"?

i'd go for first release so the uk one in this case. it is a proper album and the first they released. i wouldn't be against you putting the U.S one but putting both would seem a bit much. pick your favourite perhaps.

Simon, you should magically appear to answer the questions now:P

One of the few lists in which I can't blame Coldplayers for not voting for Radiohead...

I'll have my list done soon :)

I hate to sound like a Coldplay fangirl, but Parachutes is just amazing :embarrassed: I STILL THINK THERE ARE MANY ARTISTS WHO ARE BETTER THAN COLDPLAY, but nothing can beat the tranquility of songs like Don't Panic, Sparks, and Everything's Not Lost.

1) Coldplay - Parachutes

2) Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not

3) The Killers - Hot Fuss

4) Oasis - Definitely Maybe

5) Thom Yorke - The Eraser

6) Keane - Hopes and Fears

7) The Strokes - Is This It?

8) Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand

9) Travis - Good Feeling

10) The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement

11) The Libertines - Up the Bracket

12) Gui Boratto - Chromophobia

13) Kasabian - Kasabian

14) John Legend - Get Lifted

15) Jack Johnson - Brushfire Fairytales

16) The Beatles - Please Please Me

17) Gustavo Cerati - Amor Amarillo

18) Radiohead - Pablo Honey

19) Modest Mouse - This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About

20) Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane

21) Owl City - Maybe I'm Dreaming

22) Cut Copy - Bright Like Neon Love

22) Skank - Skank

23) The Script - The Script

24) U2 - Boy

25) Jonny Greenwood - Bodysong

26) Jon Hopkins - Opalescent

27) Muse - Showbiz

28) Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend

29) Sodastereo - Sodastereo

30) The Verve - A Storm in Heaven

31) Doves - Lost Souls

32) Gorillaz - Gorillaz

33) MGMT - Climbing to New Lows

34) Phoenix - United

35) Snow Patrol - Songs for Polar Bears

36) Peter Doherty - Grace/Wastelands

37) Kings of Leon - Youth & Young Manhood

38) Jota Quest - J. Quest

39) Royksopp - Melody A.M.

40) Sublime - 40oz. to Freedom

The second half my list isn't very accurate at all. It's a lot of mediocre debut albums, but I love the artists, so I figured I would give them some votes.

Meh, Wedding Crashers ruined Sparks for me. :disappointed:

If you ban these three bands:

Coldplay

Muse

Radiohead

Otherwise we'd know the results.

Parachutes.

Origin of Symmetry.

Pablo Miel.

Showbiz was Muse's debut, not Origin of Symmetry.

oh yeah ma bad.... anyway I think people will vote for coldplay and muse

And...Solo Artists do count :)

So...you could do Thom Yorke's debut AND the Radiohead debut.

Nevermind, question answered.
