What's with old people

Featured Replies

They don't appreciate the little time that they have left in this world.

well there's a broad statement. how would you like them to behave? i can't wait to be old and moan. moaning is fun.

My granny has a facebook :cool3:

and she knows how to use it.

She has also read the twilight series and makes the BEST pancakes.

of all the things she could have taken from this generation it's twilight and facebook?

she could have had methadrone and arcade fire.

kudos on the pancakes though.

I never want to be old srsly

I had to teach my nan to text. It was painful to say the least. :blank:

ha, i'm like that with my parents

I'm freaking scared of getting old and senile

Well, for me the biggest challenge was to teach my grandmother how to use pc. It've cost me a lot of nerves :dozey:

oh yeah, i didn't think of that

senility is worse for the others around you, for you yourself it might be a blast

but yeah, your mind is all you have at that age so it would be terrible if it went

At your service^^

You're kinda right, but I wouldn't tell it's a blast, a lot of old people are depressed

I wanna die young :blank:

if i get to an older age without responsibility, or i have children and they grow up to adults and understand my way of thinking, i would much rather have my life in my own hands. there is a certain beauty in that control, rather than letting nature take it's cause. it's quite a powerful action and i would prefer that to simply fading away.

on the other hand i wouldn't do it if my parents were still alive or if those closest to me didn't understand

Yes you have to think about your family and friends first... But are you talking about killing yourself? :uhoh: I never could

yeah, but not in a depressed way. more in a content way. in my mind there is nothing to fear about death. the only people who have to suffer are the ones left behind, so the chances i'll ever get into a situation where there wouldn't be someone who loved me is very slim.

I live with my grandfather ...so Im used to all the old people stuff.

Hes the last family member i have who cares at all.

He'll be 90 this august.

Sometimes its annoying because he always is so condescending and thinks im so stupid and gossips and talks crap about me with my aunt behind my back

or because money is always an issue and hes so cheap. I guess the great depression left its mark on him like that.

But sometimes He'll say or do something funny like telling me to "turn off the mouse" on my computer or sing in italian or start "dancing" to Viva la Vida and bump his leg or ask where his glasses are when theyre on his head and i just laugh. Kinda like a little kid in that way.

Luckily as far as expired groceries go... I do my own shopping/cooking.

I think the whole reading twilight thing is funny,

especially when she was explaining the story line to my sister.

And thank you.

My gran is the opposite she will come round your house and start checking the dates of things in your fridge :laugh3: She has a baaad case of OCD.

I love talking to people one generation older, like parents. :wacky:

My grandmother is one of a kind too, in the not so nice way. :shifty:

ARGH SHE'S SO. :freak:

My grandma is awesome! She frequently plays on her Nintendo DS and Wii, she has a facebook profile and the other month she went wing walking in a bright pink tutu and wig!

This thread makes me miss my grandparents. I never met either of my grandfathers, as they died before I was born, but my grandmothers were amazing. :(

Well your granny beats everyone else's.

awhhh

I never knew my dad's parents. My granddad died when my dad was very young and my granny died before my older sister was born.

Actually for me it would be weird having 4 grandparents.

I have one grandpa who I don't see often and don't know very well. My other grandpa died a couple years before I was born.

My other grandma died when I was 8, but I didn't know her very well either.

My grandma is pretty OCD too. I guess she just hasn't noticed the jar in her refrigerator. :uhoh:

Actually, for a very long time I would refuse to eat anything at my house if I had not witnessed it being purchased, because of a bad experience I had with expired food when I was really young. I never trusted expiration dates either, and if something had already been opened I wouldn't even think of eating it. :blank:
