thats the link to the article the graph came from. the article actually aims to analyse the discrepancies between the most and least expensive shows from a variety of indie artist. for example the most expensive show from the national's current tour was $96 and the cheapest was $43, vampire weekend and mgmt had similar differences. this tells us that certain bands are more popular in some cities than others allowing them to charge more for their tickets.

 

it's well worth having a look at that article if only for the comparison with lady gaga.

i think it's more interesting for american music fans. ive never heard of ticket prices being different from city to city in australia or even the UK. but it seems to be the norm in the US.

It's sometimes common in the UK for London shows to be £2/£3 more expensive when you have a smallish band doing a tour, but that's down to London being more expensive to have shows
