I have a friend from Norway (Drobak city). First time I wrote to him was a few years ago but I lost his contacts and I haven't talk to him since June. I told him I'm planing to visit Norway (Drobak) on August and he asked if we could arrange a meeting. I said 'yes' without too much thinking. But the thing is that I don't really want to see him, because I know very little of him and I think it's a bit dangerous to meet foreigners in foreign countries

So, what should I do? Tell him that I don't like him anymore? Or let things develop naturally?

hmmm maybe you should tell him the truth....I mean if you told him you don't like him anymore you will probably loose contact with him...and you don't want this....or don't you care about this?

I mean it's natural to be sceptical

if you choose to meet him, choose a big place or a restaurant, something full of people and for the first time tell him you have just an hour or so.

If you don't like his personality, then I don't think you should meet him. But if you're uncertain only because you don't know much about him and are afraid you might run out of things to talk about, then I think you should give it a try. You might become (better) friends.

ETA: + what Raphaele said.

Well, I'm not sure if I like him, one thing is to talk in skype and another in real life.

Yeah, I was thinking something like that, a place where I can see a lot of people and there I not be notice already

hm, maybe I should, if he really a friend he'll understand if he don't, when it's meant to be :dozey:

well, on the other hand: there is always a risk...and if you really like him and actually want to meet him then you should give it a try and do what Nina and Raphaele said...

Hm, I think I'm not much keen on meeting him, I think I'll say him the truth

Well it could be just for not very long. Just to say that you talked to each other in real life for an hour or so. And as everyone said, do it in a huge public place.

I know you're not very sure you should do that, but what if it turns out that you have a great time?

Bigger risks are taken every time you get in a car. Therefore you should go for it. You have nothing to lose.;)

You should go. If you don´t, maybe you´ll regret for not having gone. But watch out, and try to meet him in a public place like almost everyone said here before.

Yes - and as Chris sings: "If you don't try, then you'll never know..............."

If an old guy turns up instead; Run for your life !

But seriously ; Just get to know him better then decide.

I don't know, I don't think I like him that much that I would want to meet him :dozey:

Try to know him more. And after that, rethink whether you want to see him. Or you could just explain to him. But easier said than done.
