Okay so lets face the facts. We all love music here. And we like to talk about our favourite bands. And we like to dedicate threads, posts, pictures, and fandom about them. Since there is talk about Radiohead Week II, U2 Week, Muse Week, Beatles Week, etc. let's keep it all organized.

 

We'll come up with some guidelines as to how they should be carried out.

Also some guidelines about how frequently we'll have them.

 

Maybe suggest some band nominations and we'll make a master schedule on here.

 

And maybe a mod can sticky this?

October - Muse Week Organized by Violet

November - Beatles Week Organized by Mike

December - NONE (End of year lists kind of take over the forum)

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we can have people nominate bands, make a poll with each band listed, and out of those select the 12 most popular to have 'weeks' throughout the year.

I like the once a month idea.

Now what I'm trying to also figure out is for artists like U2, The Beatles and other artists that have over 7 albums, do we let people do a single album for a given day or have them do the entire day?

 

Like for me i'd do Pop or Zooropa for U2, but I'm not too familular with Passangers... and though I love U2, I'm not the biggest fan on the forum and wouldn't feel right doing Achtung :P

edit: And for more than seven albums, it depends. If it's eight or something, make it a bit more than a week. If it's ten, I think it should be two per day.

Vampire weekend week ?

They only have 2 albums and while I LOVEEE vampire weekend, they're not a big enough band yet to have a week. That's my opinion anyway.

I would be pretty up for a Vampire Weekend, on their two albums. :nice:

 

For newer bands we could have weekends, like Arcade Fire Extended Weekend as I mentioned.

I wouldn't even suggest a week for arcade fire because they just haven't created enough material. I see a 'week' as somewhat of a lifetime achievement dedication. A look back at everything they've done which you can't really do with bands that are less than 10 years old or only have 2 or 3 albums.
