Coldplay on tour this year?

Featured Replies

I know it's a bit early to think of a tour but... I've read in some music blog that besides from releasing LP5, the guys are going on tour by the end of the year, starting in Madrid, Spain?

Anyone heard/read of it before? :stunned:

I hope not o.0

And probably not ...... that sounds BS.

and why would they start in SPAIN? thats soo random of a location.

No Im definately calling bullshit on this one.

well for x&y they gave a concert in madrid at random promo

i guess the blog got the idea from that?

plus as their 'spanish' side from the last work, they may imagine they will keep on that way.

may be to give same importance to Madrid as Barcelona had for VLV.

can you share your orignal source ipodthermic?

weird because the last tour finished in March, too early I think

Yes, I think it's too early for a tour... I was just curious about it.

Here's the link:

It's in spanish, here's the translation:

Coldplay. Breaking news...!!!

September 6th, 2010 by LONG BRIT magazine

I'll repeat what it's always said. Yes, Coldplay is already super popular and Chris Martin appears everywhere. BUT (a great "but"), NO ONE (a "no one" in caps) can or could ever discuss the musical quality of this british band called Coldplay. The undeniable succesors of U2 await more critics than possitive comments, because, let's face it, envy is a great deal and leads easily to critic anything objectively brilliant and solid.

Let's go with the news, that it's not one, but two! First of all, that in the recent APPLE EVENT 2010, Coldplay again presented a new song from what would be their 5th album. The song is called "Wedding Bells" and here is the video:

Of course, we also leave you here another video where Chris makes a quick review not only of "Wedding Bells", but for "Christmas Lights" too, another new single.

Second of all, to tell you that people from Long Brit here heard a rumour (a very solid rumour) back in June. It seems like, if there's no other change, Coldplay will start their new world tour in Palacio de los Deportes in the city of Madrid, by the end of the year.

Obviously, who humbly writes this lines and has gone to gigs in their two last tours in their visit to our country, will be looking forward for this and will be fast in buying the tickets as soon as they are on sale (last time didn't even last a day); and of course, we will keep you updated with more news.

Maybe my translation could be better, but I think it's pretty understandable :P

I think it's too early for a tour. Unless it's some promotion thing (in the case they release LP5 before the end of the year-I really doubt it- or at least the first single from LP5) , but again I don't think it's true.

Of course, we also leave you here another video where Chris makes a quick review not only of "Wedding Bells", but for "Christmas Lights" too, another new single.

Yeah, here's your problem.

I hope not o.0

And probably not ...... that sounds BS.

and why would they start in SPAIN? thats soo random of a location.

No Im definately calling bullshit on this one.

random of a location? oh yeah so true they should start all their tours in New York and end them in Washington and play 10 gigs at the Madison, because any other place is SO RANDOM OF A LOCATION

sheesh.

Yeah, here's your problem.

Then correct me please?

.....

Yeah, here's your problem.

what's the problem cause i don't see it.

and about the 'random' location.

i remember when x&y came out, coldplay gave some promo gigs in spain, one of them i think first one was in Madrid at a 'small' venue, and they did the same for VLV in Barcelona.

i don't find it that weird random location, they seem to have a bond with Spain for whatever reason, which is not the usual on other bands.

btw thanks for the original link.

I think the "problem" The FInal Track talks about is that they refer to "Wedding Bells" and "Christmas Lights" as singles when probably they won't even make it to the album. And I don't think Spain is random, but I do think it's too early to start talking about a tour date. Maybe the author of the article mistakenly thinks that chris presented a new single the other day at the Apple event.
