Another coldplay song on X-Factor! (One Direction singing Viva la Vida - 1st post)

Featured Replies

A newspaper report has revealed the songs that each X Factor finalist will perform on tonight's live show.

According to The Sun, FYD will perform 'Billionaire' by Travie McCoy ft. Bruno Mars, while newly-formed boyband 1 Direction will sing Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida'. Girl group Belle Amie will take on 'Airplanes' by B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams. This year's groups are mentored by Simon Cowell.

Singing in Cheryl Cole's Girls category, Rebecca Ferguson will sing 'Teardrops' by Womack & Womack and Cher Lloyd will perform 'Just Be Good To Me' by The SOS band. Katie Waissel will tackle Queen's 'We Are The Champions' after forgetting the words to the song in her first audition.

Mentored by Dannii Minogue, Aiden Grimshaw will perform Tears for Fears' 1982 hit 'Mad World', while Matt Cardle will sing 'When Love Takes Over' by David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland. Nicolo Festa will take on Lady GaGa's 'Just Dance'.

Meanwhile, singing in the Over 28s category, mentored by Louis Walsh, John Adeleye will perform Mariah Carey's 'One Sweet Day', Mary Byrne will sing 'This Is A Man's World' by James Brown and Storm Lee will sing Starship's 'We Built This City'.

Shouldn't be allowed. Can't they please just leave Coldplay alone?

Coldplay covers should be illegal in every country on earth and a felony in the United States.

I completely agree. Maybe somebody should start a campaign!

We don't have the show in France and that's good for me because I don't want to see it.

Yes, but I'm sure there must be a French equivalent, such as French Idol?

that doesnt make sense does it?

i mean... the wavering and just... the song is supposed to be full of emotion and melancholy and regret and mourning and she sings like like "Lolz, its such a shame for us to part :nice: "

agreed

Mr Edd should not have been allowed on X factor.

I cant believe they sent her a bunch of autographed stuff and a handwritten note.

/jealous/

Well that ain't making me watch X- Factor :P

I Will Only watch it if ... I Dunno they perform on it live which is something that they will never do because they're too good for X Factor

Does anybody else feel unfazed by the Coldplay covers - especially Viva La Vida - by this point? I mean, part of that may have to do with the fact that I no longer really care about Viva La Vida the song, but I've seen snippets of so many covers (most of them bad) that I no longer really care when someone else covers the song, or any other Coldplay song for that matter.

If someone wants to cover it, let them. If they cover it badly, then lots of shame, but it's not like the song is ruined forever.

^ I hate that girl, I'm sorry but she just looks, acts, and sounds so stupid

I agree. She came across like a total airhead.:dozey:

^ yes she smiles way to much, and her teeth are very horsey :laugh3:

Stace-horse?

In a way we should be glad that Viva la Vida is getting butchered every week, otherwise they could take aim at The Scientist instead!
