Lucid Dreaming

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever experienced this?

I've always thought that it'd be really cool to be able to control your dreams. But I have never been able to do it... perhaps I also haven't tried hard enough.

Has anyone else on the forum been able to do it? What was it like? What do you do to be able to achieve a lucid dream?

lucid dreaming is when you are able to be aware that you are dreaming when you are dreaming. From that if you know you are you can essentially control your dreams and do whatever you want (fly, go somewhere, do something)

Yes, quite often actually. It's fun!

I usually go around punching people and stuff.

Although it has been scary at times because I've been trapped in dreams and not able to get out even though I know I'm dreaming.

I have many of these, reasons being I sometiems wake up for a few minutes have a smoke then go back to sleep, and my mind is still active because of the nicotine, most of the time when I have a lucid dream, it is more of a nightmare of things going wrong with a friend etc. But I have learnt to control them, once in a blue moon these dreams are good, and have wonderful out comes as they seem real !

Well, I think at one time in my dream I was like, 'This is odd. I must be dreaming' and I could pull myself out of the dream. But I don't know whether that was a dream or imagination or whatever. (Sleep makes things hazy)

Christopher Nolan had many lucid dreams, thus Inception. I'm not so sure, but I think I came across this article once.

Only a couple times, and usually the moment I realize that I'm dreaming is just before I wake up. The majority of my dreams seem like real life, which makes waking up a real bitch.

A few times a year. Always fun. Sometimes when I'm running away from dinosaurs I realise it must be a dream and then just stop running and I wake up. Other times I just do whatever the hell I want to do, which usually isn't postable.

Yes, I get those dreams every once in a while.

..edit: when I read peoples' posts, I'm not sure if they are real lucid dreams.

Many times. Already as a child. Then I would go grab as much candy as I could and eat it, YUM! or fly or steal people's marbles. They used to be rare, but you can train yourself and so I did. If I'm in doubt whether it's a dream I always look at my hand. Number of fingers always get screwed up in dreams. Try it if you don't believe it. Fist time I did that, it scared the hell out of me.

I even had a lucid dream last night. Did the hand trick, then wondered what else would get fucked up by the dream. Looked at my face in the mirror, it still looked okay, also the eyes. Then looked at my boobs (HAHAHAHA) but they were also fine and the right size. Yet, my hands were fucked.

I love lucid dreams :awesome:

i remember i fly on a dream just once, was awesome and i felt as i was in the place, i was like a bird and i was seeing the shore coast. that's lucid dream?

i had other dreams that i used to control before i was around 14. (as i'd like to dream about dolphins and so i dreamt of that), when i was 14 to 16 i had really bad dreams that i felt real, but bad is that those happened (madrid train bombings), and also had weird dreams in general.

Only if you were aware that you were dreaming while dreaming.

Yes, when I was younger I used to do it often

But not so much these days :disappointed:

In fact I don't really dream very often at all

never :bigcry:

Oh! I love the concept of lucid dreaming! I think it's so interesting and strange... :wacky: I've read a bit about it, actually, but I can't seem to be able to control my dreams that well.

It's a bit scary, too, I think - I've read about people who get so good at lucid dreaming that they get hooked on it and just ignore reality. :uhoh:

But it's really, really fascinating.

I tried it once. It was this weird flickering on and off the dream and just lying in bed, but I do remember jumping off a building and then proceed as if nothing happened :blank:

I Think it's happened to me once and it was really cool You are sort of in the middle of your sleep then you realise your dreaming and choose what to dream about, I Really want to do this again but I Don't know how it happens.

I found a really interesting article on how to dream lucid dreams. :surprised:

There are entire webpages and communities dedicated to lucid dreaming! :nice: Google away!
