Crests
6. Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti - Before Today I listened to this album, it was terrible. The only song that was even slightly listenable on it was Bright Lit Blue Skies. I'm pumped for all the lists to come out. :
deaths_friend
in the past ive been dependent on metacritic to make this task easier. but they've removed their forums and re-designed their site. so im going to have to do this manually. Violet
arcade fire's the suburbs is the best album of 2010. period. I will say that it's quite the contender this year. I have trouble deciding between that and The National's "High Violet" for the #1 slot on my list.

Italian Plastic
I'm really keen to hear Pitchfork's best songs list. Their album list is usually pretty predictable, but what is the best song of 2010???

The Escapist
I listened to this album, it was terrible. The only song that was even slightly listenable on it was Bright Lit Blue Skies. THIS. I listened to it like three times but it just didn't do anything for me as well. I think it was a bit too hyped for its quality. Joanna Newsom at #1? I don't think so. :shifty: Probably not number one but it definitely one of of the best release in that genre this year. If you listened to that folky kind of music, you would definitely consider putting it number one. arcade fire's the suburbs is the best album of 2010. period. Hmmm. It definitely was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it but I somehow doubt it will be the best album of the year, at least regarded by critics. ^it wasn't reviewed by P4K therefore it doesn't exist. This is what bothers me about Pitchfork sometimes. Plenty of really good [eg Australian] releases miss out because they aren't based in north america or have a very big following over there, leaving them to be missing out of all the lists altogether. deaths_friend
This is what bothers me about Pitchfork sometimes. Plenty of really good [eg Australian] releases miss out because they aren't based in north america or have a very big following over there, leaving them to be missing out of all the lists altogether. P4K reviews more aussie albums than any other non-australian music mag or website. without their support cut copy and tame impala wouldve gone no where in the states. they've given the middle east and eddy current the exposure to make in roads over there and theyve given dappled cities great reviews. thats only a small sample of the acts from aus that have received attention from pitchfork, who lets not forget are an american website.
