I don't understand the point of this band when Funeral was already put out in 2004. :shrug:

WTF, no he doesn't. I think of Zach Condon more than I do Win in terms of vocals. Win's vocals are more harsh-sounding.

 

Fanfarlo has enough brass. Also, if you maybe take another listen to "The Walls are Coming Down" and "I'm a Pilot" (or any of the others in 3/4 time, really), you can detect that Fanfarlo and Beirut both have that similar sway about them.

 

It's the singer's quivering/shaky voice that reminds me of Win.

 

I know some of their songs have some brass, but it's nothing like Beirut, whose music is dominated by horns.

 

I've only listened to their album once, and I could hardly get through it because their sound reminded me so much of Arcade Fire (whose music generally annoys me). Trust me, if they sounded like Beirut to me, I'd definitely like their music.

I understand if you said 'the voice reminds me of Win'. But earlier on MSN you told me 'the voice sounds exactly like Win's' and I was like WUT.

 

And after you told me Reservoir is really similar to Funeral I did listen to Funeral again for a few times and I found that the similarity is very minimal. Perhaps because I've listened to Fanfarlo thousand times and I'm used to their music already.

In certain parts he did sound exactly like Win to me.

how were they?

Saw them this weekend at Coachella. I thought they were alright. Rooms Filled With Light is a pretty solid album but I felt like their set could have been more energetic.
