Because it's handy.

I agree, too many stickies makes the place look untidy

I think the mixtape exchange thread won't get lost because people will start posting reviews so it's not that important to keep it stickied. Same with the 30 day song challenge thread because it was just an organization thread and that was already done. And the 2010 albums of the year thread shouldn't be there anyway (amazing thread but 2010 is gone :P).

The top 15 threads should be stickied imo because since it's a competition one thread can get lost and it wouldnt work that way.

Anyway, just my two cents. Maybe the section would look cleaner.

it's better this way, I can have opinion about things :P

Who cares it's hardly permanent.

^hahahaha this:wacky:

What's the retiring mod count now? And what does this tell you about how the place is run?

From what I can see the most popular mods are the most active, like Lore and Jools who've resigned (Or pushed to resignation, whatever), and the ones you rarely see are more then cheery to keep their pointless status.

I think it's pointless only when there's nothing to do. I won't say it sucked to be a mod because it was alright, even though when you think about it, it's just doing a job without being paid because you don't even get a "thank you" in return most of the times (that's why also I stopped helping in the multimedia section, in the end no one cares about the time and effort you put into things, I just do the secret santa because I like it and it's nice to work with Alison) and just being censored when you want to post your thoughts.

Anyway, the mods are nice people (almost all of them are my friends :P) but again, it's not like there's much to do these days here.

You wouldn't believe what some people have done to try to be a mod again though  :sealedlips:

Exactly, the rare times that there are arguments they're normally resolved within a few hours, doesn't affect the rest of the forum, doesn't need to be dealt with, and all in all normally results in further problems.

I agree somewhat, here's my take on it. It's easier just to respond via Lore's summary.

If the organizer is cool with me unsticky-ing it I'll be more than happy to.

(Day 1 - Day blah)[/url] so if people want to see what was posted for a specific day they can just easily find it via there. So the organization thread should be in sticky status for a few more weeks since the Challenge is not yet completed.

I completely agree, I'll do that now.

I agree, that's exactly why I sticky-d them the other day, since someone else pointed out exactly what you said. This however is what probably made the "whoa too many stickys" become obvious as 3 threads became sticky'd all at once. But those definitely need to stay sticky-d until voting is done; that will only be for a few more days, so just chill mah peeps.

So in summary:

- I'll go ahead and unsticky the 2010 album thread.

- If the creator of the mixtape project wants me to unsticky it, I will.

- The other temporary stickys need to remain through the timeframes I referenced above.

Hopefully this meets everyone's approval. Thanks bunches.

LAWL you wacko

Nice relevant connection there. :wtf:

Do qualifications come into account when applying to be a mod?

I don't know because I didn't apply. So I suppose the answer is no (not specified ones, anyway).

I don't know because I didn't apply.

Yeah it is kindof a lottery.

Do qualifications come into account when applying to be a mod?

No, but a donation to Ian's offshore bank account helps

love ya Ian :P

That's one baffling mystery explained.
