Russian singer stole Coldplay song.

Featured Replies

So has anyone written to them about it yet?

I'm really curious about this now and Google isn't giving me any answers!

I just asked the Oracle, I was probably not the first one though. :P

The best person to ask is someone from Russia who is familiar with both recordings. Does anyone here have any Coldplayer friends friends from Russia to show this to? Or maybe add attention Russians to the title to get their attention.

fsa (look 5 posts above) already found that Wiki link where you can see that all 4 are credited, so it's not like he actually "stole" the song like said in the title. :)

That settles it then haha.

Though, I still can't believe the band has never mentioned it before. :confused:

For future reference the person who wrote the Russian lyrics also wrote this:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsH0YWSG_mg]YouTube - HQ Eurovision 2010 Armenia:Eva Rivas-Apricot Stone(Live final)[/ame]

I'm pretty sure the band gave the permission for Leps to use their songs. There's no need to worry, guys. ;)

It is also mentioned on his official website: http://www.grigoryleps.ru/history/ But I can't believe they wrote Gold Play instead of Coldplay :facepalm:

Hello! I'm from Russia

I respect a creative of Coldplay and i wanna inform them, that in Russia there is a very famous artist, his name is Grigoriy Leps, who has stolen some melodies from their songs, practically one in one

i insist on that thief should be punished!

if you will be interested in it, there are mp3's, proving that fact:

Grigoriy Leps - Nebo (Coldplay - Yellow)
