Hiccups ...

Featured Replies

... what do YOU do to get rid of them? :blank:

My current situation made me remember that "hiccup girl", whose hiccups would never stop ... I googled it and found this. I don't want to end up like that. :blank:

I get a glass of water or something to drink and take a lot of small quick sips and it goes away

Drinking water upside down, it really helps!

Thanks, this seems to have worked for now ... but they usually come back.

Take a deep breath, then swallow. And WITHOUT exhaling, suck in more air and swallows again. Keep inhaling and swallowing until your lungs cannot possibly hold any more air, and then they are usually gone!

I hold my breath if they are just small ones and I drink water upside down if they are really bad.

I've actually had hiccups everyday for the past five or six weeks...that sounds like an exaggeration but I'm being serious D: they keep coming back.

A few years ago I had the hiccups for a few hours and someone told me to trace circles on my hand with my finger. If you concentrate really closely on drawing the circle it's supposed to cure hiccups. It worked instantly, but it has never worked since. :P

That sounds a bit painful, but I'll try that next time. :uhoh:

Maybe you should ask a doctor if there could be a medical reason for this? :uhoh:

It's not been constant, it's for a few minutes everyday.

Google says it's stress :uhoh:

I ALWAYS TRUST GOOGLE :|

On a side note, the only 100% effective method I know of is to wait until they stop. Works every time.

The best thing you can do is sexually gratify a man.

It's the only way.

Too bad, the only men available atm are married.

What I do when I get hiccups is that I take slow, deep breaths in time and breathe out at the same time repeatedly until I feel they're gone. What happens when you get hiccups is that your diaphragm, for whatever reason, is spasming. Breathing in this manner helps your diaphragm regulate itself again.

Hold your breath for some seconds. If that doesn't work then drink something but be sure to lean against a wall wall so you're perfectly straight.

They don't sound very available to me.

You should go hunting!

That shouldn't be a problem, because I only have to go out on the street and men are hunting ME. :cheesy:

Hiccups stopped?

Not really ... especially not if they're like 2 heads smaller than me. xD

For now, yes, they kept on returning though.

All I can picture is this:
