What is your independence day ideas?

What is every person's independence day plans? We are carrying out some thing this year as well as thinking about taking a trip to Washington Electricity for the fireworks. The fireworks are usually photo off from the reflecting swimming pool through the Lincoln subsequently Memorial. I assume the going to be mobbed, it is possible to much better place to observe the fireworks coming from that'll be a smaller amount congested although nonetheless getting food/drinks/bathrooms close to?

Well, due to the dry weather, there's a fire ban on my town, and for that reason, we can't buy fireworks legally this year. If I want to see fireworks for the 4th of July, I have to go downtown to the official display. Joy. :|

Fireworks are illegal in New Jersey. :awesome:

We're not doing anything this year. I hate parades.

Yup. Can't buy, sell, or use them. :awesome:

But people drive to Pennsylvania and buy them, then set them off at home anyway. Although that's illegal and you get fined if the police catch you.

You have to let the police know you're going to be setting off fireworks, and they have to approve it. So for the common NJ citizen, it's illegal.

> Well, my plans are to (1) not get clobbered by all the holiday traffic in the area, and (2) avoid crowds! :laugh3: !

But for the adventurous, if you hop on a plane.. dunno - never did the 4th there, but it looks to be pretty well packed for the 4th..

So, to observe the fireworks from a ways off, hm.. trying to think of the hills in the area - maybe Arlington cemetery? Or possibly a balcony or rooftop view - Washington's skyline is limited by the monument, so you should be able to see it all from almost any rooftop..

Doesn't bother me, I'd probably kill someone accidentally with a firework anyways.

Well this isn't a new law. :P

There's a church near my house that always set off fireworks, so I guess i'll be watching that on July 4th haha.. and it'll be my cousin's bday on the same day. so Happy Bday to him too :D

when I was born, the hospital was near a river and every 3rd of july there would be fireworks on said river. now my mom being a recent immigrant from Vietnam hasn't seen them yet, so when 9PM rolls around she was freaking out lmfao :P

aww.. haha yeah fireworks can be quite loud. i used to be scared of them too :p .... btw, ur mom in your picture is pretty. she looks so young!

Last year I was in Engerland on Independence Day. Oh the irony.

Yeah, I'm sure some of that will happen in my neighborhood, too. And if it doesn't, it won't matter much. Any time there's a celebration like this, the Mexicans that live on the streets next to ours shoot their guns off incessantly. Yay. :|

Same!

:surprised: You wouldn't happen to be from Texas as well, would you?
