Just to clear this up (MX)

Featured Replies

Okay, right. I got that MX was actually "Mylo Xyloto," but I hadn't deduced that it's actually a full-length song and only the intro (apparently) was used before HLH. Still not entirely clear where the Oracle has stated it is actually a song, though. From the little that has been written about it, I can't see where it's been made definitively clear -- unless I'm missing something?

My money's on it being reprised like life in technicolor. That'd be good. But I have no idea how they'd make it a full song, I just don't see it!

We'll wait and see.

^I was hoping for that too

So it's probable that the xylophone piece in the roadie blog became really part of the title track

not really no, look into the thread again, the pieces are too different (as of what we've heard so far)

and agaaaaain a thread with nothing new...

can't we have ONE sticky that contains only these clarifying things and not billions of them around?!

PLUS: i want to have the exact sources for that, so the full Q & A from the oracle!

You are giving a statement, a justifcation but you are lacking a proof (for instance the source, the Q&A)

Looking through the Oracle posts, the only answer I could find that I suppose could seemingly give some the idea that MX is actually a full-length song, was this:

Q. Hi Oracle, I was wondering if the song played before Hurts Like Heaven during the festival circuit is actually called Mylo Xyloto and was just shortened to MX to avoid spoiling the title of LP5 before the title was officially announced. Thanks!

The Oracle replies:

Ta-da! I wondered when someone would pick up on that after what I had said about it in a couple of answers. MX did indeed mean Mylo Xyloto but at the festivals, as I did mention, it wasn't a full song, just a prelude/introduction to Hurts Like Heaven.

And that to me doesn't actually state that MX is a full-length song. If she'd said "...it wasn't the full song," I might be more easily convinced, otherwise I'm needing someone else to point out what I'm missing here.

If it turns out that MX is an actual song, my theory (and wish) about MX/HLH opening the album will be officially dashed...

^i agree

hmm i don't think that you necessarily will be wrong then!

i think the album - given Mylo Xyloto is a full song then - will start out with:

1 - Mylo Xyloto

2 - Hurts Like Heaven

3 - ...

and not as you said now:

1 - Mylo Xyloto/ Hurts Like Heaven

2 - ...

The MX part that is an intro to Hurts Like Heaven sounds really Christmas-y to me. And it's not really the time of the year for that. :p But it makes me curious on how the full version will sound.
