Ipod Broken ;~;

Featured Replies

Before you all say anything, I did NOT drop my iPod or do anything that might damage it. It's in perfect condition, with the exception of the sleep/wake, aka hold button. :shifty:

Basically, it doesn't recognize when I press it. . .but then it has a life of its own. It spastically goes on and off whenever it wants to. I held it vertical for 10 minutes, with absolutely nothing touching the hold button the whole time, and for the entire 10 minutes it was blinking and spazzing out.

I tried restoring my iPod in case that may fix anything, but it did nothing.

This iPod is less than a year old (got it early November 2010) so I'm ridiculously pissed that it would break this early- and my warranty has expired, apparently.

Anything I can do?

I thought iPods have a year warranty. If you have your original receipts you'd be able to take it to an Apple store and get it fixed.

But anyway, it's a hardware problem by the sounds of it, which if the above is not true, will cost money to fix.

iPod Touch, Classic, Shuffle or Nano?

Oh yeah, that's true. :thinking:

My dad ordered it for me from amazon.com, he should have an electronic receipt or something right? :uhoh:

And yeah at this point I'm 99% positive it's a hardware issue- if it was software, restoring it would have fixed it.

I looked it up and they estimated repairing it would be $10-$50 :shifty:

Touch 2nd generation (also resold as 3rd generation (it's the 8gb model))

Is all the warranty 1 year? Because when I looked at what I had left according to Apple it looked like some of it was 6 months and some of it was 1 year? :thinking:

If you're dad bought it with a credit card it will come in his history and thats proof like a receipt. I might do this with my broken iPod..

At least your iPod didn't go around and around and around for a joyride in my washer....

Poor iPod Shuffle. Never stood a chance.

Pretty sure he'd have a receipt from Amazon then, possibly in his emails if he can't find it in his cart history or whatever it is. Printing that out should count.
