Moving to Mars vs Up In Flames

Featured Replies

At this point I personally can't say what would be a better "fit" on the album of the two, because I obviously haven't heard the album as a whole.

But stand-alone, of the two, I like MTM better.

i havent heard the studio version yet of UIF.

so i cant choose yet.

I too would like to hear the studio version of UIF, but I think I will still like MTM a lot more.

MtM sounds revolutionary to me, Up in Flames is more like a song from one of their previous albums. There are many drawbacks to UIF which I think cannot be helped even with the studio version, whereas I can hardly find any flaws in Moving to Mars.

MTM is a really great song, everytime i hear it it gets better and better.

Yup. Pretty much this.

Although a proper studio version is needed to make the comparison justified

Moving to Mars as of right now. Perhaps I will change my mind when I hear the studio version of UIF. I like it, but Moving to Mars adds more to the song as it goes on and it sounds beautiful! There wasnt alot of build-up with UIF, but I still like it.

I can't help seeing UIF as an inferior, less inspired Life Is For Living. So yes, I prefer MTM, but what can we do about it?

Moving to Mars is more interesting, less predictable, and has better lyrics. I may be being too harsh on Up In Flames because I haven't actually heard a high quality version but to be honest I can't see it topping Moving to Mars.
