British racing driver Dan Wheldon has died following a horrific 15 car Indycar crash in Las Vegas today.

 

 

This is devastating news. I cannot believe it.

Very sad news. I've never heard of him because i'm not into this kind of races, but it's still shocking and very sad to hear about this. RIP.

Very sad, watched it live and was speachless when the wreck occurred. Watched him win the championship in 2005 in Fontana. Such a sad day.

It's so sad. He was a great representative of British motor racing in America. He grew up racing alongside Jenson Button in karts when they were both kids. :(

 

A massive loss for motorsport today.

Man, I was so terrified to see it live. RIP Dan. We'll miss him definitely.

Saw footage of Dario Franchitti in uncontrollable tears. He looked absolutely distraught. Had me very emotional as well. I never got to follow Indycar but I know of Wheldon and Franchitti well and always wished them well. I never thought I'd be so unsettled by this though because I've very rarely watched a full Indycar race (don't have Sky). It's the worst day of being a motor racing fan ever since I became one over 10 years back.

 

Thinking of it is making me very upset.

Sometimes I hate the sport I love... yesterday was one of those days.

I'm not into sports with cars at all, but that doesn't make it any less unfortunate. :\ Poor guy.

It was such a shame what happened to him too, he made Moto GP more interesting this year and he would have had a great future in the sport, I feel sorry for Edwards and Rossi too as they must feel awful for running into him even though there was nothing they could do.
