October 19, 201114 yr Rated it brilliant. Anything less and I'd be dishonest to myself. Studio version is just much more lush, musclier than the live version. It's an absolute roller coaster of a song. I didn't know what to think of it after the first listen. In fact I was disappointed after hearing the live version which for me is probably the best ever Coldplay have sounded live. But then I listened to it a couple of more times and I just think it's the most ballsy epic opener Coldplay have done. I've heard only this, Charlie Brown and Princess of China so I don't have an opinion on the album just yet but Hurts Like Heaven I just love. The vocal effects on Chris Martin's voice totally goes with the poppy nature of the song and if his vocals were naked of any production this song would be worse of. The outro is lovely. It gently brings you back down after the epic high. I just feel sorry for the person who rated this song awful.
October 19, 201114 yr I just heard it today on itunes, and i'm only allowing myself to listen to the new songs once a day until I can hear the whole album. So I think I have to listen to HLH again before I can be sure about how I feel about it. But right now I think the live version is a little bit better. But the studio version is still really awesome. It was stuck in my head all day!!:D
October 25, 201114 yr Amazing!!! This is an AMAZING song! It's one of my favorite songs on the album! Charlie Brown and Princess of China is really good too! When I first heard HLH I was wondering who was singing because it's such a new sound for them. :)
November 11, 201114 yr Love it, one of my favorites from MX. Although, I haven't heard the live version yet.
November 16, 201114 yr It's brilliant! One of better songs on Mylo Xyloto! And I can't stop listening to Chris' voice in that song.
November 25, 201114 yr I absolutely adore this song. I mean, I'd heard the live version and all, and I really liked it, but once I actually had the album and heard the studio version, I fell in love.
November 29, 201114 yr Absolute 10. The song describes the entire album and the album art. It's Coldplay on meth... CB is Coldplay on LSD. :D
