I was at the mall the other day and heard a version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." I would know Chris Martin's voice anywhere and it was definitely him singing it! So my questions are: why in the world can I not find it to download it?! And has anyone else heard Coldplay's version of this song? Thanks for any replies :D

It's from the Mince Spies EP which was released back in December 2000 as a "christmas gift" for some fans

You're welcome :)

Hey!

I don't think it has ever been sold or anything, as a single. I think he used to sing it during concerts that took place around Christmas. But now they have Christmas Lights, so...:)

Anyway, I've heard it too, so beautiful! ( :dazzled: the song itself & Chris' voice :dazzled:)

I think you can find it on Youtube, so if you know a way to download the videos from Youtube, then you may be able to download it. I'm no expert in downloading & stuff, so I don't know if you can actually do that, or if you can find it some place else. :\

Hope I helped you a little :D

Good luck !

(sorry for my gramar :embarrassed: )

You can find the download in this post (Parachutes era, 4th link)

From WikiColdplay

Mince Spies (2001, released only to the pre-Parachutes Coldplay fan club, consists of a cover of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and a remix of "Yellow", limited to 1000 copies worldwide).

Ooo, thanks for the link, _Tash!!

I really appreciate this version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".

Chris Martin has a voice for Christmas songs :dozey:

Beautiful :dazzled: :dazzled::dazzled:

This is my Christmas Lights b-side!

Maybe this is kind of random...but...whenever I hear Coldplay's music in a public place I feel so proud; like 'those are my boys'! That's so dumb because they aren't, but KWIM?:thinking2:

I'm lucky, for once. I found this Christmas CD at Target one year, and this song was on it. Maybe check on Amazon, it's an NBC Christmas CD, with a red cover listing the artists on it.

kittybitty- thanks! I'll go looking!!

iluvjonnyboy- Hahaha, I know EXACTLY what you mean, because I feel the same way! My teacher was playing MX in the middle of class the other day and I felt so proud :D I'm right there with ya!

the pre-Parachutes Coldplay fan club,

what is this ? :S

There was an unoffical fanclub back in the days, but the band was closely involved. It's the same fan club from the Coldplayground magazine (I assume)

Don't forget "2000 Miles" on the NOW XMAS CD. They may have enough material for a whole Christmas album in a few years. :D

Danny Boy- I would absolutely fall even more in love if they made a Christmas album!

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is a well known song so it's hard for it to be covered in a top quality manner, but Coldplay do that here. It's so good that in my mind, they made it their own. And for such a classic song like that, I think that's pretty special and a glowing assessment on them.

I would have to agree 100%!

I found this CD at a used record shop. It's called "Sounds of the Season: The NBC Holiday Collection," originally released in 2003. Looks like there's quite a few used copies available on Amazon.

It's a different version from Mince Spies, though. The Mince Spies version runs 2:23 and this one is 2:57.
