What do you guys think Coldplay has in mind for 2012? Besides the tour of course. I'm guessing singles for Charlie Brown, Princess of China, and Hurts Like Heaven (Strictly based on how they're doing on the iTunes charts, I personally would never release PoC. It's okay but not great). I'm also very skeptical about an EP like Prospekt's March, They don't normally do the same thing twice.

Oh, and on topic I think they will release new songs next year as Guy said they were discussing them before the show in Rotterdam. Could be an EP, could be otherwise.

This is mainly UK based but will generally go...

 

Paradise becomes number 1 on Jan 1st while Mylo Xyloto is selling very well at #2.

 

Charlie Brown video released, becomes an airplay smash with radio 1 + alternative / rock stations, features on the background of a lot of tv adverts and programmes, becomes a minor hit with staying power like Paradise but floating around the top 20 for a few months at least.

 

Febuary, at the brit awards, Coldplay and Rihanna steal the show, Coldplay walk away with two awards while Chris Martin makes a speech that gets taken the wrong way by the media (Deja-vu?!!) Princess of China climbs to the number 1 spot to be Coldplay's 3rd UK #1 single.

 

Princess of China becomes a US top 5 chart hit and around the world near the summer while Charlie Brown quite a few months after single release will be hanging around like an anthem and while the stadium tour is in progress.

 

Mylo Xyloto becomes a mega seller album that matches the levels of X&Y despite the sales climate but due to having more hits and stay power than their previous album.

 

Those are my predictions in terms of sales for 2012 :)

I don't hope that POC is going to be a single. I won't see a Coldplay video with Rihanna in it.

 

But I do believe that apart from CB, that Mylo Xyloto + Hurls like heaven is going to be a single. And Don't let it break your heart may be a single too.
