December 14, 200322 yr i'd take jay-z over the white stripes what is the big deal about these 2 ppl they're arent even good
December 14, 200322 yr "All rap is crap" Nice. Really nice. You're entitled to your opinion, but you're gonna choke on your Haterade.
December 14, 200322 yr i'd take jay-z over the white stripes what is the big deal about these 2 ppl they're arent even good Except that Jack White is incredibly good as both a songwriter and a guitarist. It's very difficult to say otherwise and maintain any perception equivalent to objectivity or rationality, and, while I admit I'm a White Stripes fan, I think it might just be easier for you to say "I don't like that kind of music" rather than evoke an indefensible argument questioning Jack White's talent. But try as you must. FWIW, I LOVE Jay-Z. Jay-Z is King.
December 14, 200322 yr ha, i rekon get rid of all that rap shit, i cant c how any1 can listen to that crap. but definitey keep the white stripes & the strokes, they r awsome! ;) Your first post ever to this board is to say all rap is crap? How un-original.
December 14, 200322 yr haha...i know 5 gay people...and they're all a bit wierd and untrustworthy i find. i don't wanna turn this into a gay rant...as i have perfectly acceptable (but others wouldn't agree) views on it...and i'm Very open minded. but being openly gay, doesn't really have anything to do with why i don't want them around in 2004, and isn't really a good argument for why any band SHOULD be famous... Also...I think Tom Peed made a good point about slating ALL american music. Oh my God! This thread is so blazen with hasty generalizations! I think I'll take some of my own advise and move on.
December 14, 200322 yr Snoop's TV show' date=' at least. :-)[/quote'] He's got a show? ...oooh yeeeaaah... it needs to go.
December 14, 200322 yr It was a sketch comedy show on MTV ... and guess what? I got picked up for another year! I disagree with your opinion on Snoop because I like him music, but we have a common ground in a.) his TV show should go, and b.) all this -izzle fo' shizzle stuff is becoming trite.
December 14, 200322 yr i actually like american music, i'm american, i just hate rap music, i don't understand 50 cents and Eminem I don't know what you heard about me, but if you can't get enough of me, you better let something something something, because i'm a mother fucking PIMP, PIMP PIMP horaay, now players, i've got some fresh news for the table, this player, he's different, he don't drive a cadillac, he aint got a perm, so why should we let you in the pimp legion of doom. I don't know why I know the the lyrics for that song :embarrased:
December 14, 200322 yr I think not being able to understand rap music is a valid criticism seeing how lyrics are important to most people. The irony of this is that rap music allows for the greatest development of lyrics and the messages contained within them because of its format. However, if you grow up on traditional pop and rock music (like I did) then it will take longer for rap to be accessable (as it did for me).
December 14, 200322 yr I used to love the rap... Dr. Dre... Snoop... lots of groups I can't remember... Guess I got soft. ;)
December 14, 200322 yr EVERYONE THAT SAID SIMPLE PLAN..I TOTALLY AGREE just like to add linkin park, good charlotte, limp bizkit, evanescence, beyonce and 50 cent to my list.
December 14, 200322 yr I hope the same thing happens to rap and punk that happened to Disco, i hope and pray for that every day. other than that, artists (non-punk/rap) that I'd be glad to never hear again... Avril Lavigne Fred Durst / Limp Bizkit Godsmack Puddle of Mudd The Hilton Sisters (I know they're not artists, but they need to become unpopular, NOW!)
December 14, 200322 yr Author rf_ucsd - you truely ARE much more higher than everybody in this thread...i'm sorry you feel the need to move on (and then actually stay and write more  ) also...i don't really think my comments were 'blazen with hasty generalizations' , but if You think so, then tell me why and which parts in particular. i believe you DO have to 'generalize' people...otherwise you'd end up trusting everybody i don't really want this thread to become all about this, or drift from the thread title...although, i suppose i can't control it at all...
December 14, 200322 yr I hope the same thing happens to rap and punk that happened to Disco' date=' i hope and pray for that every day.[/quote'] i suppose a band like the Rapture who somehow combine punk and disco is your worst nightmare. :P
December 14, 200322 yr that said, when i hear the term "punk" i tend to think of the B-52's or the Talking Heads and such (as well as the obvious groups like the Ramones or the Sex Pistols). but as far as i'm concerned punk as a genre died out over 20 years ago soon after disco. when was the last time you've heard anything new from anybody calling themselves "punk?" as it stands now, punk is really more about trying to look and sound like every other punk than it is about making decent music.

Punk used to be anti-conformity, and now they still talk about anti-stuff, while they themselves are actually participating in it... Just like Lifestyles of the Rich and famous, where they're complaining about rich and famous people when they themseves are actually rich and famous.
December 14, 200322 yr Miss fucking avril fucking lavigne fucking fucking argh!!! Sorry she annoys me
December 14, 200322 yr Westlife, Gareth Gates, Cheeky Girls, Blazin' Squad, Busted, Girls Aloud, Victoria Beckham.... Should ALL Go! That's all I have to say.
December 14, 200322 yr Ha! This thread is really mean, because all of you wanna see people fail... but Victoria Beckham and the Cheeky girls etc have to go :P :dozey: PS: I feel very sorry for all reality tv peeps. Because most of their careers are destined for failure. Look at David Sneddon for instance. All these young people want to do is live out their dreams, but they're just deceived by the pretencious world that is, "the music business"... and tossers like Simon Cowell who just want to make as much money as possible :P
