I'd start with the Guardian or Independent, they at least work on some form of a source, but it's not guaranteed it is accurate. But they are definitely serious in comparison with papers like the Mirror or Sun, which will simply write any old shit to sell, and it's good that you take an interest to know more, as a lot of the UK doesn't (Which is why the Daily Mirror is the biggest selling paper right now).
