Tinie Tempah has given an update on his progress in recording his second studio album and has revealed that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has been "a big influence" on the record.

Speaking about the album in this week's NME, which is on UK newsstands and available digitally now, the rapper said that his new record has a "progressive quality" and features a number of high-profile guests.

Asked if Dizzee Rascal and the Coldplay feature on the follow-up to 'Disc-Overy', Tinie replied: "Everybody who I've said before and who you've mentioned I've been in with, whether they've vocal-ed something or listened to something or even mentored. Chris Martin has been quite an influence on this album."

Then asked if the record sounded at all like Coldplay, the rapper said: "It's definitely a lot more progressive in the quality of the sound. I've been listening to Lykke Li and Lana Del Rey, the dynamics of the sound, how big and anthemic it gets."

Tinie Tempah on recording with Chris: "Incredible"

Tinie Tempah recently visited the NME office to discuss his new album 'Demonstration'.

In the interview, Tinie talks about working with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the evolution of his sound, his dreams and ambitions as well as the responsibility he feels to be a good example to his fans.

From the interview, apparently Chris could appear singing in a track.

They could've just made a nice meal together.

In all seriousness though, there'll be quite a few people hitting the roof over this one. It was bad enough when Princess of China was revealed to feature Rihanna, but Tinie Tempah's one of the most intelligent British rappers we've produced for a while. He's ambitious and always looking to broaden his sound - not unlike Coldplay - and apparently, he gives his stuff to Damon Albarn to listen to for second opinions. Great news that they've worked together, I say, and bring on this material.

I was on board until you said it was a rapper, gross.

I'm intrigued, Ill want to hear it before I make a judgement of coarse.
