To me, it means inspiration, hope, and excitement....here's the story:

 

Calgary,2012.

The concert was amazing, i believe Coldplay can only do two things to your heart: Either make it pump out of your chest, fluttering with emotions, or making it come to a full stop for a second, as the music makes its way into you, sending those chills down your spine, and making one second seem like forever.

I learned that on April 18th, when i walked into the dome.

 

My eyes were scanning the place, anxious to get a glimpse of the stage. Finally, while seated (next to the best Godfather i could ask for, of course...) i could not get my eyes off the stage, i was trying to picture a hyperactive Chris, bouncing off the walls, a calm, cool Guy, playing bass, a Lovely and thrilled looking Jon, strumming along the music, and a strong, determined Will, doing his magic with the drums.

 

Nothing of what i imagined was even close to the amazing experience it was, i had seen videos on the web, but no... being there, feeling your heart beat as fast as a human heart could ever go, is what makes a Coldplay show...well, a Coldplay show! all of my expectations were topped, and after it was over, I kept dreaming. I dream that one day, I will sdee them again, that close, i dream my heart will beat as fast as it did, and maybe, only maybe... one day i will meet my role model, Chris Martin. The man who has dragged me out of gloomy days, making a rainy day a wonderful one, and letting me see the little things in what he writes, making every song a beautiful one. Then, Meeting Coldplay... telling them how most of my art has been inspired by them, their melody, and liveliness of their music.

 

The stories behind the music are the best part, though. No, the story on how Coldplay started is. Their start as a band, and how they pulled through, inspired me as an artist to get myself out there... Now, thanks to that, I have got some starting commissions, my work is being seen by other artists, who give me criticism, or praise, but i never forget who helped me start: Coldplay.

So....what does Coldplay mean to you?

 

 

P.S: I would like to take a second to thank my Godfather for the whole Coldplay experience. Without his help, i probably wouldn't have been able to see them this time! Thank you for making 2012 my year, thank you for letting me experience my favorite band BIG TIME. (for privacy, i won't say names, so let me just mention him by my nickname to him:Tio)

That's a really heart-warming and inspiring story you have there, especially how Coldplay (or Chris Martin) has helped you as an artist to get out into the world, I can relate to that as an artist myself!

 

It's amazing what this band and their music make people do. First of all, for me, their music keeps my head clear, I can listen to certain songs over and over again and still drift into a calm state of mind where I can reconsider thoughts that keep stressing me all day, and then they're just gone or solved.

 

As for actual concert epxerience, I can say, and I have no freaking idea how it actually came to that, I got more self confident and outgoing. Maybe it's the huge places with all the different people that I meet there, maybe also other concerts could have changed me that way, I don't know. But I'm very happy about that. And even better, all the fantastic people I met out there that I would have never discovered without this band. It's quite amazing talking to people from France, Italy, Russia, England, America, China, New Zealand, Australia etc. that have the same passion, and by talking to these people so many doors open where you can learn even more about cultures, about how the people live. You see, it spreads out into every direction, it doesn't even to do anything with music in the end anymore, that's what's so amazing about it.

 

Also the band's history is a giant motivating kick-in-the-arse when I get doubtful if I ever get happy or successful in my future. These guys just did what they loved, worked their asses off for it every free minute they had, and that's what made them what they are today. If that's not inspiring than I don't know what it is! :lol:

 

 

And holy crap that came out way more emotional than I wanted it to be, oh well..

Wow, so true! and yes, the Concert experience CAN boost self confidence! I mean, im not a person who sings and dances, but i was singing my lungs out, and dancing like crazy!

He has :) And every band member deserves the attention he has, but in my case, he is my idol as a person

Their story IS so motivating.... and i understand coldplay haters, but when they nag about them not putting a drop of effort in their work, those haters should try forming a band in highschool AND keeping their good grades, at the same time, and after a few years topping the charts.

...well I can't tell the whole story but I always thought their songs matching perfectly my life, in particular the whole X&Y album [how many times in a day I say this? :laugh3:]...so for me they means when the words fail music speaks.

 

But if I have to use just one word I choose light, but not just a hopeful light, I mean the kind of light that stay with you in the dark and warm up you.

 

 

And it's true, this place itself it's special and I'm so glad that I joined it, I met very special people here...plus if I'll have to run away from home I'll have a large [worldwide] choice of fiends to put me up :D

I can't help but cry. I get tears in my eyes every time I read a concert review.. so I can't even imagine what I'll do when I actually see them live.. not because I'm a "wild..crazy..screamy...loud.." type of fan.. which I'm not at all.. but I would cry my eyes out when I saw them because I'm so moved.. so touched and changed by the words of their beautiful songs, I mean really... I'm just stunned.

 

Their music is exactly what I look for.. I mean right on the spot, 110%... sometimes I don't even know what to say because its hard to find the right words but that wouldn't even be nearly good enough.
