Wolf Gang Thread.

Featured Replies

After seeing them live here in Miami, I simply fell in love with their music. The way they play fitted the concert as a whole instead of when Robyn played. Personally, they sound a whole lot more lively while performing live (Guess it makes sense xD). So, what's your thoughts an opinions on them?

I'm considering getting into their music. My dad ran into the singer a bit after their set was over. He asked him for a pick, but didn't had one on him! NOOOOO! :P

^Picks are pretty cheap though.

Wolf Gang are better than Robyn, anyway, so that makes sense.

They're cool, though. I like them. :nice:

Not sure what Wolf Gang has to do with Robyn, considering they're two entirely different genres, but whatever, I've seen both live and both are great.

Caught Wolf Gang several months ago only knowing a couple songs, but his whole set was extremely energetic and brought a decent early-day crowd.

They both opened for Coldplay on certain legs of this tour. The only reason I know that is because I visited the Coldplay Live subforum.

I'm falling in love with them after seeing them on Monday. Bought Suego Faults and am loving it

Oh guise; some of you missed out then. We've just wrapped up a Wolf Gang Q&A over on the Live subforum.

But anyway, this thread is long overdue.

It is no secret I love Wolf Gang; a lot. I've seen them 3 times (once at The Great Escape, one headline tour of his and when he was on the NME tour). Each time the show has been superb and I've got to say that Suego Faults was one of my favourite albums from 2011.

I've also met Max a few times and hung out with him on some occasions. And he is absolutely lovely (even if when I first met him, he was absolutely stunned that I had paid £80 to see Coldplay and hadn't listened to VLV or MX :laugh3: irony)

Also-- a question I have been meaning to pose. Would you say it is a 'him' or a 'them' for Wolf Gang? I mean, it is Max that writes and records all the music (or at least he did for Suego Faults) but he has a band he takes with him on tour which has been the same line up each time...?

I've been wondering about that same question. I had to refrain from asking certain questions in the Q&A because I wasn't sure. I guess the question would be if the band he tours with is just that-a touring band. According to Wiki, he has had that same live line-up since 2009, yet he recorded "Suego Faults" himself.

I refer to Wolf Gang as a "him". Kind of like how I refer to Beirut or Bright Eyes as "him" rather than "them" because I like getting super technical like that, I guess.

Yeah, when you put it that way, it makes a bit more sense.

Is Bon Iver still a "him," though, or is it a "them," since he worked with a band on the second album?

^^Fair point actually.

I do class it as a him most of the time... But as more people have discovered Wolf Gang the instances of 'them/their' rocketed. Which made me doubt myself.

Admittedly, I corrected the woman next to me at Snow Patrol when she was like: 'Oh Wolf Gang, they were quite good. I didn't think their lead singer really did the rest of them justice.'

RAGEQUIT.

I saw these guys last night, and they were awesome! I'm gonna go look for their record today. I think these guys have a lot of potnetial and I'd love to see them live again!:)

PS: At my show we were given the oppurtunity to meet them. Did anyone here meet the band? The line was about 2 hours long, and I waited a while but eventually I left (cause I didn't want to miss Coldplay, and at the rate the line was going I would miss their first song). I made eye contact though

Natt here ^^ (who organized the Wolf Gang Q&A) has actually chilled with Max (the mastermind of Wolf Gang) several times. I imagine that's how she was able to set that up in the first place. (Which is totally cool, BTW. Thanks for taking the time and effort to organize that.)

^Yeah. It pays to be in the obscure music scene. I met him at The Great Escape festival in Brighton and then he came back there on tour a few weeks later so I went again and he recognised me-- so he signed a poster for me and spoke for a while after the set.

Then I pointed out something to him on Twitter (which was he was saying he was still in the studio at 1am working-- and I saw that his laptop actually had Twitter up so I said it looked like hard work and he then sent me a Twitpic later of his work screen and then followed me) and since then we've spoken over there every now and again.

Then on the third time he was back in the area I went again and obviously because of Twitter and meeting him before-- he said I could come backstage and meet everyone and see what it is like; and he was really nice and cool. And then we had some drinks and whatnot. Got me a setlist and some merch too for free.

Max is really lovely to his fans though; so if you tweet at him he is really nice and responsive. Down-to-earth guy.

Also I just got the questions back and he's answered a massive chunk. So I owe him a drink when I can next get up to London it would seem.

ETA: The interview can be found here

I listened to Wolf Gang before I went to the Coldplay concert in Philadelphia, so I was really excited to see them perfrom and they were awesome. Every song was fantastic. After the show I met the band and they're all so friendly. I got them to sign an album and got a photo with them.

Bottom line, Wolf Gang is great, and I highly recommend taking a shot at their music.

I got to meet Wolf Gang and they were so nice and signed my sticker and my ticket and we got a photo with them :dazzled:

I also bought Suego Faults and it's very good

UK peeps that are interested... It's just been announced there is a one off show in London on 18th September.

(I've worked out it's going to cost me triple the ticket price in train fare. And I'm still going to do it )

Thank you SO MUCH! I was a bit depressed that I only got to see Coldplay twice so far this tour, but hearing this news gave me a new show to look forward to! Loved them when they opened for Coldplay, and I've had their CD on repeat ever since. Can't wait for you guys to come to Washington D.C!

Heads up that you can get presale at noon (local time) if you head to the Wolf Gang Facebook page and follow the link.

General sale starts soon after-- I think through the same place and obviously directly from venues.

For those in the UK he's doing a 1 off show in London (at Madame Jo Jo's) 18/9. Tickets also found on the Facebook.

Wolf Gang are 10 freakinbagillion times better than Robyn. I listened to Suego Faults today and liked every single song. I love the comparison of the 70's and the 80's and the ballads and the dance tracks.

I FREAKING LOVE MAX SO MUCH!!!! (excuse me while i fangirl) but Max is one of the few people i know who will tweet back, hell hes tweeted be back like 3 times and followed me...
