Coldplayer in distress! >.<

Now this is really urgent!

1. How can I convince my mom to let my friend and me to go to the December 30 concert?

2. Are the $50something and $70something tickets good tickets or are they not?

I need to know quick please preferably before Thursday!

Thanks!

tell your mom how much the tickets will cost you on the 31st, she won't need much more convincing after that

Argh thats a really hard one! I guess it depends on why she's not keen on you going?!

If its the cost, maybe offer to pay for some of it (I'm guessing you've probably thought of that already!) Or make sure she knows what a rare opportunity it is to get to see a band like CP live! If its because she doesn't want you to go for other reasons, then you need to focus on those reasons and reassure her that whatever the problem is, isn't a problem...if that makes sense?! Maybe get her to speak to your friends parents and they can talk about the concerns they're having?!

If its a safety thing...remind her how nice coldplayers are!! :D

As for whether the tickets are good or not...ANY ticket is a good ticket! I've been to shows where I've gotten the really cheap seats, and just being there makes it completely worth it! Ok so you won't be right at the front staring into the whites of their eyes, but in many ways, you get a better view from the back because you get to see the whole show as a spectacle, all the screens, graphics, lasers, lights, confetti etc etc. And you never know, your cheap seats might end up being right next to the C stage so you'd only be 5 feet from the band!

Sorry not to be more help! and good luck convincing your mum!!

I find with parents, favours work very well. Offer to do something in return for being able to go (like clean the house, do dinner dishes for a month, something like that). What works even better is doing favours without being asked. So, in other words, schmooze as much as possible :D

Thanks guys! My best friend actually suggested to mention my mom's promise to go to a concert one day!

Thanks anyways!

(These will be backup plans.)

When I wanted to see Coldplay in Auburn Hills this year, on August 1st, I was almost in the same situation. But it wasn't with the tickets, it was with driving there..

I dont have my own car so I drive my mom's car all the time. My mother doesn't mind me driving the car as along as I ask before I use it. But its different when it comes to taking it out of state and driving three hours there and back for a concert. I wasn't too sure that she would let me do that.

So, I toke a walk with my mother and explained to her with all my heart how much Coldplay means to me, how much of a good influence they've been to me and how they've changed my life for the better and all the good things that have come out of being a Coldplay fan. I told her how much it would mean to me for me to be able to go to this concert and how serious I was about it, because I wasn't a "normal" or "regular" fan.. I'm a superfan and being able to be in the same room with my musical heroes will be a great honor. To be surrounded by family.. yes, family, that's the way I saw it. Because when I met up with a Coldplayer from there I ran up to her and hugged her.. now this was our very first time meeting and I was crying tears of joy, just so happy to meet other superfans meant so much to me. It just touched me so much, I was overjoyed and overwhelmed with love, not only from the band but from the fans too..

I realized that it was worth it to have that talk with my mother about using her car to be able to go. I was nervous about it and scared that she might not let me go but in the end it was worth it. Have a heart to heart talk with your mother, tell her how much it would mean to you to be able to go see them. Be detailed and be honest. Show them too, how serious you are about it.

Hope that helps hun, I sure do hope your able to go. I really mean it, anyone who wants to go and ends up not being able to go, I will always feel sorry for them because they really have no idea what its like until you see it in person and feel it for yourself. There are no right words to describe the feels their shows give you. =)
