Cyan Kat
I'll occasionally drink but I don't feel like I need it to enjoy being with friends, I've never really been drunk just to the point of being tipsy and I kinda like that feeling. I really don't know how I would be drunk though I sort of know what a hangover would feel like seen as I've had quite severe migraines as a child and I've found that coffee triggers them so I avoid that, plus I know that I would probably puke everywhere if I drank too much. :awesome:
Prince Myshkin
I had a drink a few weeks back on my birthday. Only got tipsy though. 3 and a bit glasses of wine. That's now 5 glasses of red wine (spread over two sittings: 5th March and 27th April) this year. Going good and I don't get cravings. Got stoned about 5 or 6 times tops this year too, so averaging a little over once a month. And acid once. Overall not bad, health wise (to say I'm not on an outright ban of 'bad stuff'). It's only really alcohol I'm avoiding, too.
Prince Myshkin
So I started drinking again in September. Managed 8 months without being drunk and only drank small amounts on 2 or 3 occasions, which was good. Had a couple of months drinking what I wanted, getting quite drunk a couple of times a week. Now I'm bored of it again and it does nothing for my physique so I've stopped again. Don't regret the drinking I did as I enjoyed myself and danced quite a bit haha. Anyway, not drank for two weeks, been on a healthy eating and exercise kick, and in the last 8 days I've lost 5lbs (2.27kgs). This is basically the same method I used when I lost 3 stones (19lbs) in 3 months, about 3 years ago and it stayed off until a couple of months ago when I just started eating and drinking loads. Ms Magpie
Wow, well done! What kind of exercise do you do? Anyway, whatever you do is fine as long as it makes you happy.
Matter-Eater Lad
I didn't drink for a while when I was living with some friends because I was on anti-depressants. Being sober sucks at parties.
Prince Myshkin
Wow, well done! What kind of exercise do you do? Anyway, whatever you do is fine as long as it makes you happy. Well so far only running as I'm trying to get my fitness back. Just 2 mile runs. Going to start with weights and then also fitness classes at the gym soon too. Might get a bit of swimming in too. I didn't drink for a while when I was living with some friends because I was on anti-depressants. Being sober sucks at parties. It depends. If everyone is fucked it can be. But a normal night you tend to be able to steer things your way and direct the conversation. People find you more interesting when alcohol lowers their standards on other people's intelligence. And it's easy to rip the piss out of drunk people too, so it's easy to get laughs out of the tipsy ones. And the morning after is always phenomenal. No wasted days. Ms Magpie
Awesome plan, keep it up! I also need to get back into exercising but I'm still not keen on running. Weights and squats it is. And I totally agree on being sober at parties. No hangover in the morning = win.
