Coldplay convention

Featured Replies

i know that a couple of years ago there were some meetups in England ,i think maybe 20 -25 fans got together for a weekend and did Coldplay related things

.I wasnt there, but many people wrote about it and it sounded like lots of fun

I remember those posts too.

If we planned regional meetups, I'd be happy to help organize a N.E. US/S.E. Canada event.

Meetups are probably a better idea.

For a con you're looking at a lot of money and time to organise it

- date

- location/venue

- staffing

- special guests

- activities

- insurance

- rent

- equipment

- floor planning

- food/drink

Those are some off the top of my head

Accomodation packages

Hosputality for special guests

Coordinating with the host city

Media relations

Probably needing permission to use the band's name/image in a large-scale way...

I never worked on a Con, but I've been in small and medium sized music festival planning committees. There's a lot to consider.

Maybe meet ups are better then, would they be better by times of touring? Or not, when fans are eagerly waiting albums and tours?

It might be harder during a tour since people are already travelling to shows and already spendong a lot of money.

But what do guys think?
