What do you think is the *best* Coldplay album? This may be opposed to which is your favourite, as an example my fave is Parachutes but I think the best is Viva. Unless your favourite is the one you think is best, then go on right ahead. I was just curious as to what people think after Ghost Stories has been out for some time.

Best musically : A Rush Of Blood To The Head

 

Favourite : X&Y

A Rush Of Blood To The Head remains their best achievement in creating music. It's also one of the greatest albums of all time and unquestionably timeless.

Best: Gotta be AROBTTH. This album thematically and instrumentally is extremely mature, emotive, epic and sweeping. Not a bad song on this thing, and will always have some of their most powerful songs. Just a great listen that flows so well and certainly stands out in its musical era as one of the best albums ever.

 

My favourite: I still have to pick Viva La Vida here. This one got me hooked on Coldplay and has almost too many great songs. I wouldn't call it their best though because I think it is more of a "good song" album than a really cohesive one. Sure, it all still flows great, and is definitely their most artistic and bold release to date, but it doesn't have the classic edge that AROBTTH has imo.
