how do you rate your taste in music

Featured Replies

i rate myself a 8/10 in musical knowledge. i rate myself a 9/10 for musical taste. i rate myself a 10/10 at the age i am while knowing all this stuff

10 - ´cos I mad about Coldplay, and Coldplay is the best band in the world, so...10!

Hmmm... I'd say 10. Seems a little odd..but, I do like many types of music. Hell, (now...these can be categorized in different genres from the music they play) from Coldplay (mellowish, normal rock), to Incubus (hard/some normal/mellow rock), Led Zeppelin (classic rock), James Taylor (folk), AFI (punkish), and System of A Down (metal). And I don't like music, just because it's what's popular or what other people like

hehe seems pretty good to me. :P

10/10, cos it's MY musical taste, you know? of course i like the stuff that i listen to. lol

amen!

10/10, cos it's MY musical taste, you know? of course i like the stuff that i listen to. lol

haha

yeah

what a retarded thread

yeah, is there anybody here who's not going to give themselves a high score?

and now that i've said that i'm going to go ahead and respond to it anyway.

i think i have a more diverse taste than most people, for whatever that's worth. and i'm just as likely to listen to obscure band x as i am to major label top 40 band x (although admittedly my cd collection leans heavily toward indie groups). just in the past couple days i've had on john coltrane, bjork, the beach boys, rachnaninov, outkast, tortoise, aphex twin, air, stevie wonder, kraftwerk, the b-52's, explosions in the sky, and more... so you tell me how my taste is. of course i'm going to think it's good.

but then again, i know lots of people are that way. i just think it's weird when people are asked what their favorite groups are and they respond with a bunch of groups that, in the grand scheme of things, sound exactly the same (coldplay, travis, and starsailor, for example :P )

9/10 since I'm true to myself and don't go with trends.

I like either extreme metal like Satyricon, blues based stuff like Down, or more mellow music (Coldplay, David Gray).

Yeah, who would rate themselves low? :p

Obviously you will rate yourself highly....

10,. I rate myself a 10..what is the point of this thread exactly?

i think i have a more diverse taste than most people, for whatever that's worth

not worth much in my book

i guess being more diverse means you have a better taste now...

I'd give myself an 8 because I like all different types of music so music wise I usually have something in common with everyones music tastes :)

defining our own music taste...wouldn't that be a little biased. other people wouldn't agree. so i think this question would be a little on the oxy moron side.

I know about most music... im not one of those stupid kids who only listen to the shit on the radio.

Rating my taste?? i honestly don't know. but i do like a range of music.

i like everything expect heavy hardcore metal, country, and techno

9/10 I have a great taste in music from Muse to John Michelle Jarre, from DMX to Travis, from coldplay to Bob Marley from MUSE to Stone Roses the list of a diverse is endless
