 I love "Polar teddies". :laugh3:

It's cute, isn't it? :D I thought of designing a shirt with that 'slogan' but aren't sure by now.

  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

I think it's cute, you should do it. :nice:

hey guys! sorry I disappeared- family stuff!

HELP... who met at Dundee Uni?

and I love A Distant Echo or Snow Teddies :D

I think two of us already answered: Gary Lightbody & Mark McClelland

I'm not so sure though.

yeah, I think that's right...

and so should I answer Nathan or Gary for the motorbike thing?

Bianca was pretty sure it was Nathan. :nice: I think I got that one wrong...

thanks, Imke... I answered Nathan

I noticed Karen put N. Ireland for where the guys are from... is it wrong if I just answer Ireland?

nevermind. I noticed that wikipedia specifically says Northern Ireland

but wouldn't it suck if someone went in there and messed with the info??

It's Northern Ireland, so Ireland is wrong.

The stupid game won't let me answer any more questions.

Edit: Too late ... I took some answers from Wikipedia and I really hope nobody messed with the pages. :uhoh:

dammit. I don't know why i did that! :(

oh, well... I'm done, too

and now I've got to go make dinner! :P

I'll talk to you all later!

Bye Jen.

gotta be careful using Wikipedia as a info source...ppl have been known to go on there & mess about with the info, esp during exam time.

btw, careful with your answer. Northern Ireland & Ireland are 2 different places/countries. Belfast is in N. Ireland - i know for sure cos my dad went there for uni (& he told me that i should go visit that country if i ever get the chance while i'm in the UK! haha) :D

Hi everyone:nice:

can someone please help me??

i heard take back the city a couple of months ago, it was my first snow patrol song and i loved it:wacky::wacky: and then crack the shutters, chasing cars, just say yes and open your eyes...i love them and i think their music is great but these are the only songs i've ever heard and i hate posers...you can't exactly call me a fan:cry: and i want to be able to say: yes i love snow patrol and yes i know songs other than chasing cars...:bigcry:

can somepne please tell wich album to buy and where to start...i would really appreciate it :wacky::wacky:

THe rest of them is from Northern Ireland. Gary and Nathan from Belfast. Gary was raised in/near Bangor, if I remember correctly. So Northern Ireland is definetely right. :)

Whohooo, a new fan! Welcome, caeder'schild!

Hm ... I would suggest to start with Final Straw and then just follow the timeline. Final Straw -> Eyes Open

-> A Hundred Million Suns.

When you want more, then check out their first two albums Songs For Polarbears and When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear Up. They are more different from the other three. I love them as well, but I just lost my heart to Snow Patrol including Nathan and Paul as well.

Hi Ceader's Child! Nice that you found your way to the SP thread ;)

I'd say start with Final Straw, that's what really opened my eyes to them and then follow the timeline.

The first two albums from them are very different and I know a few people who don't like the first two albums at all but love the albums from Final Straw. Personally I like all their stuff ;)

thanks, Imke... I answered Nathan

I put Northern Island... I was 100% sure that was right and I didn't use Wikipedia for that. I just hope it was right

well, you seem to be exposed to their newer stuff so far. so you can go with A Hundred Million Suns & Eyes Open. the songs you've mentioned are from both albums.

then work backwards from there to Final Straw & then if you really want to know early Snow Patrol, then give the 1st 2 albums a go.

btw, is that you in your siggy? cos that looks like a pretty impressive scene! very Viva La Vida-like. ;)

on another note, i met a guy who's a fellow Malaysian & he was wondering what i was doing on Facebook. i told him about the whole pub quiz thing &...................it turns out he doesn't know who Snow Patrol are.

totally gutted. :(

@ceadar'schild- Welcome! My first SP album was Eyes Open and it's still my favorite. I really, really love them all, though. Well, Final Straw and A Hundred Million Suns, anyway. I haven't gotten the early ones yet.

@Kimmi- :stunned: Did you join someone else's team?? :whip: :P

@ceadar'schild: Oh great, a new SP fan! Hiya! :) I think the other's advices are pretty good, I'd have recommended you to get their latest three albums as well! I, for myself, started with AHMS, though. Well, I obviously knew "Chasing Cars" before, but it didn't really catch my attention... So it was their latest record who made me fall in love with them. ;) It's true that their first two albums ("Songs for polarbears" and "When it's all over we still have to clear up") aren't everybody's cup of tea, but in my opinion there are quite some gems on them such as "Fifteen minutes old", "One night is not enough" and "An olive grove facing the sea". So, if you've listened to their latest albums, like them and can't get enough, then try and have a listen to their older stuff as well. :)

@Kim: I tried to invite you to our team, but I somehow couldn't find an option... Do you still want to join us?

@Name discussion: Oh, I really like "A distant echo", too. I LOVE "The Lightning Strike" so much anyway. So yeah, I'd go for that name. :D

@Kimmi- :stunned: Did you join someone else's team?? :whip: :P

to be honest, i'm not quite sure what i've been doing for the Pub Quiz thing. i've gone & clicked around just about everything clickable on it. :embarassed:

tho i did get to answer some questions...ermmm....'cept for the question about the motorbike in Run, i answered Jonny. i've no idea why, i just had a really good hunce it's him in that scene. :P

@Kim: I tried to invite you to our team, but I somehow couldn't find an option... Do you still want to join us?

yup, sure. is there like errors & stuff still creeping up with the application tho? cos i do get some error msgs when i click around on the Pub Quiz thing.

:)

Sing out, sing out, the silence only eats us from the inside up

I meant no harm but I only get to say these words too late

When is the new album out?

There is one, isn't there?

That's just what I did at first, too, and then suddenly I'd founded a group! :stunned:

Well, but I guess if you've already answered the questions, then I guess you must be in a team already... I'm not quite sure about how the whole thing REALLY works, but I suppose, if you want to join us, you'd have to quit the team you're in right now... I don't know whether that's possible if you've once started answering the questions, though...

@EmmaLouiseSmyth: Yep, there's a "new" album out on the 9th November. It's called "Up to now"! :) It's rather a compilation of all their stuff from the last 15 years, but there'll also be three new songs on it, including "Just say yes". :)

Does anyone know when the leaderboard will be up? :nice:

compilation ?

D: i have majority of that already.

I think i might just download the new stuff off it.

Does anyone know when the leaderboard will be up? :nice:

I was wondering the same...
