  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

Posted Images

I think it'll be like it was on the CD/DVD version of AHMS and it'll be on the DVD version of it and a few other bonus stuff too. I think though we'll get one from the Fallen Empires tour though (maybe at Wembley, The Aviva Stadium in Dublin or back at Ward Park?)

By the way what was Open Your Eyes like? That was the biggest and only disappointment for me that it was left out on the Reworked tour.

tbh, i agree with you. & Aurelie. way more likely that footage will end up on the album's deluxe edition. guess we can keep hoping a more current live DVD gets made...:\

Open Your Eyes live was amazing! i loved the part in the song where it builds up to the "big" crescendo towards the end & at full on epic volumic proportions that a live performance has! :)

my 1st SP gig was actually on the Reworked tour. so it's great to finally get to see them in their usual rocking element as opposed to the semi-formal/toned down setting & musical arrangements for the Reworked tour.

That vid is PRICELESS!! I love the shout out for SClub7 :laugh3: I'm not a KP fan but I heard this song all the time during the summer in the US, so it brings back good memories. Having gL bantering on it, it's just  :D

have you seen the music video for it? totally a stroll down pop memory lane! haha :wink3:

i'm not much of a Katy Perry fan myself (tho i quite like Teenage Dream & Firework...& to some extent this one)...took me quite a while into the song before i realised what song it was. aside from this VERY VERY strong feeling that i've heard this frigging catchy song somewhere before. :dozey:

btw, for those in the UK, heard SP are going to be on Soccer AM this weekend. :)

We'll get one eventually, either that or a movie like Sclub7 haha.

I first saw them in Liverpool during the Take Back The Cities tour and when they played Open Your Eyes it has been one of the most special moments of my life because I have a massive emotional connection to the song. So the next time I see them I really look forward to hearing the song again. Also looking forward to hearing Run electrically for the 1st time. In Liverpool Gary came into the crowd and sang it acoustically with a girl and then there was the Reworked version.

From what you've said and from the videos I've seen it looked like an awesome night, can't wait for the album and to see them live again :D

nice review Kimmi. I love the cover of Last Friday night!! Absolutely hilarious, until now, the song still stuck in my head :)

And their new songs are good, i must say. Think am gonna love the album a lot! :laugh3:

By the way, londonsky are u the one who use the same name in Tumblr?? I just noticed only :)

:awesome: SO COOL!! Thx for the article!!

Yeah, I've heard somewhere that they're going to release LP7 in the middle of Fallen Empires era :D

Snow patrol are doing a live session on the Zane Lowe show on BBC1 in ten minutes (8PM UK Time) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/ there's the link to listen, new songs are going to be played and an interview too :D

Don't know when my friend can upload the rest of her videos, but I found some other users' videos of a few new songs:

Also, I suddenly like the title track 10 times better after watching the live video:

Now waiting on videos of "Garden Rules" and "New York".

I love This Isn't Everything You Are, my favourite of the new ones so far. I think it'll be the If There's A Rocket of Fallen Empire but better. After hearing all them now I'm really looking forward to the new album :D

There u go, New York. My new favorite song after i'm ready!

and the video of COITD, behind the scenes.

Lovely video, it made my day! :D

here's my photos from the night... :)

last 2 pix are of the event's t-shirt (i.e. the bloody expensive t-shirt :P)...1st one with the wristband is of the back & the other's of the front.

Called Out In The Dark To The Shepherd's Bush Fallen Empire

(sorry, can't figure out how to put it in here as a slideshow preview :shame: )

& here's a couple of videos from their Maida Vale sessions (fyi, Zane Lowe snuck in an extra treat today during his show: the recording of Fallen Empires from this session! ...happened to turn on the radio when i got back from work at just the right time! :stunned: )

Called Out In The Dark

Fallen Empires

...bloody hell, it's an awesome live track! totally epic! :D

Lovely pics! Thank you for posting it. :D

And the T-shirt looks great.

"New York" made me cry. I'm currently in a long distance relationship and it just really, really hit home. It's by far my new favorite, even though I love every single new song. Gary is such a genius.

"Those Distant Bells" and "New York" are vintage Snow Patrol, but I think my favorite is "The Weight of Love", which sounds like a really effective progression of Snow Patrol's sound. Take some early career prog, mix in some of Gary's tricks from Tired Pony, give it some raw pop from AHMS, and throw in a few entirely new things and you have that song.

Also, I'm confident no song on Fallen Empires will have a name as terrible as "Don't Let It Break Your Heart". ;):P

maybe not on Fallen Empires but what about previous songs like 'Make Love To Me Forever' 'Never Gonna Fall In Love Again' 'You Are My Joy' 'You're All I Have' and 'You Could Be Happy' They're hardly the manliest song titles in the world.

But those are simple love phrases that don't think they're clever. And that's one thing I've always liked about Snow Patrol - they never try too hard. They keep things simple and effective.

i'll give you that then lol. I am looking forward to Fallen Empires more than Mylo Xyloto but I think it's great that my top 2 favourite bands could possibly have their albums out at least 2 weeks apart :D The end of October/Start of November is going to be great musically

for £18, that t-shirt had better be great! & it had better have gone towards paying for the venue hire/deco. :P

but price aside, i really like what's printed on the back. ;)

this! (re: The Weight Of Love) :)

tho i kinda feel that the recordings kind of lose a bit of how good the songs were live, aside from Those Distant Bells, due to the bass distortion & drums overpowering the humble cameras' mics. but can't be helped...not like they were recorded with proper/pro video cams anyway. really hoping the recording they were doing that night makes it either as a deluxe edition extras or available online (i.e. the Tired Pony London gig) if not a proper live DVD.

Hey guys!

This seems like the place I want to hide at right now.

Wow, the forum went crazy with new threads while I was at work. Can't keep up, don't want to keep up. :P

I think I won't listen to any Shepherd's Bush videos with new songs... I'll wait for the album. :)

(Because I always liked their live versions so much better - kind of "self protection" not to listen to the recent concert recordings hehe)

Hope they'll come to a venue close to me soon!!!

I can't travel much or for long in the next months... but I so want to see them live again! :bomb:

Do you think they'll do it similarly to CP and put songs on the album that are already on the EP?

I want to buy it but then at the same time I'm a bit sceptical about buying songs twice.

they'll definitely do it. Just look at what's on the EP. 1st of all you've got Called Out In The Dark and that's obviously on the album. Then there's Fallen Empires so that's bound to be on the album considering it is called Fallen Empires. The other 2 I doubt will be on the album though. Really looking forward to this album and can't wait to see the boys live again :)

actually, i'm really getting confused about whether Fallen Empires will indeed be in the album itself. some of us were talking about this after the gig on Monday. the ppl on TTB's forums are quite sure it won't be on the album as (apparently) Gary's said so in a number of interviews that it won't be despite being the title track.

My Brothers is not likely to be on the album as it was written for a movie a while back already by now.

given what i've said above, surely you can listen to Fallen Empires at least? i recommend the BBC Maida Vale session version :wink3: ...you hear quite a bit of Nate there.

because it is frigging awesome as a live track... (& yes, i do remember that you don't like it... :sneaky: )

i want to get a physical copy of it, actually. but i've been told that it's definitely a digital only EP still.

& i want to see them again already! *sigh* but i couldn't get a ticket for their Q Awards gig at the end of Oct. gutted. :(

...& incredibly annoyed. as i was doing website testing most of the week & misbehaving websites (i.e. practically every single online ticketing site!) was the last thing i wanted to have to encounter. :bigcry:

anyway, i'll get over it... *sigh*

btw if anyone at all could record Soccer AM tomorrow & put it up on YouTube, i will be incredibly indebted to you for like forever!!! :D

Gary & Tom will be on it, but i can't watch it as i'm putting playing football ahead of SP (sorry lads, i've loved football longer than your band...tho it IS ironic given the show they're gonna be on). & i can't record it either as my TV box has no recording function. :(

I'd record for you if I could.

Pretty sure it'll be on youtube or a download on TTB soon as the broadcast finishes tho...

Oh ok, I'll go check out FE at Maida Vale!

I've already heard the studio version after all hehe

Just bought the EP btw so I can play it at work tomorrow, only 2,18€ on amazon.

Sorry you didn't get tickets.

Enjoy your game tomorrow!!!

:O really? i'm surprised, it'd be such a good opener or closer for the album with it's powerfulness.

I'm not surprised about My Brothers really it has a Snow Patrol B-Side feel to it in my opinion.

By the way I signed up to TTB a couple of months ago and they said I had to wait for my account to be authorised. I'm still waiting and was wondering did you have a long wait to start going on the forum or is there something else going on?
