I'm not sure where turkey falls on the meat rainbow of colors.

I would think turkey breast is white meat.

Has anybody ever had fried turkey?

That would be a no for me. I've had a huge turkey leg with bbq sauce in the summer for the Taste of Chicago.

They're both good when prepared correctly.
