i totally grew up CP, they disapointed me so much last year that i heard Parachutes after months and months 2 days ago... that's the one that hits me so much and when i see how much they've had and blew it all with x&y.

you know what's weird? everytime i think of that obssesion with CP phase i had i connect it to this forum and some members- Steph,Therese,Ophelie (don't know where she is :(), Kara,Kelly,Florian,July,Denise,Nettie and you (i think i never told you that you're the reason why i started listening to Smiths,thanks).

And seeing how all of you, including me went on separate obssesions (you-Muse, Therese-Steph-Libertines, me -RH)..oh.. CP was everything and now.. money machines, but you cant explain that to new members or those who came with X&Y why Cp is disapointng and going the easy way..

It is indeed strange, but thats the same thing I think of!! haha.. How did I get you into the Smiths' I have a bad memory:laugh4: But I am glad I helped you find them, The Smiths' are the best!!

They have become quite the money machines, I don't know if it was a personal decision or what for each individual member, or EMI the devil's themselves, but it had happened, but it is frustrating to see such a wonderful band turn to shit. Shit compared to what they should really be making. I'm hoping that once they 5 album contract is up with EMI, they will just head out on their own, and make the good stuff again. I'm hoping their not addicted to the millions.

You accidently said something about Smiths being a great band and how you adore How soon is now or Queen is not dead album (can't remember it now) and it was buzzing in my head and i finally decided to give it a try and adore them now :nice:

 

as for CP... i don't know ..at first i was like:EMI is the one to blame, but seeing how they started distancing from the fans (take Kara's and Steph's meeting with Chris few weeks ago and how weird he looked) really made me a bit more objective. esp. seeing that you really can fight with EMI if you want to (take RH for instance-they refused to release singles from KID A just to spite the EMI)... kinda.. bad.. and there's no nicey geeky coldplay, they now have some weird *U2 huge rock band* label on them. Guy drinks too much, Jonny hides too much, Will seems so distant and Chris is Gwyneth's husband :lol:

I haven't found myself thinking to many nice thoughts of Chris since then.

I would like to be naive and think that maybe EMI is the reason for the commercialism, but you are right I really can't. Im reallllllllllly hoping that Coldplays next album is going to be brilliant. And nothing like U2. I'm just seeing what happens with #4 before I really put a negative label on them.

I cant think of a time where I have heard of a ruder more disappointing story of a fan meeting them. I cant understand how an artist can act like that, I would be livid, I have probably spent over $400 on Coldplay things, albums, shirts, concert tix, DVDs, ect.. I would expect atleast and ounce of respect from him.

It is weird to think of how I would have thought of this 2 years ago, "No, their lying, we're talking about Chris Martin, the nicest man in the universe" Now it doesn't really phase me, in the sense of surprise.

me neither..the disapointments lasted through all the TL tour (rememebr the non stoping same setlist every single night, and all the speculation about chris singing on playback?) so it doesn't hit me too much too...

oh..i just read that chris got some guy ticket for AF show last week...or at least got him in the venue.. hm...
