No lover for now, so no problem to think about!

But I think I'd do it anyways because it's something I've always wanted to do

Oh, I haven't anything against USA, I really really wanna visit the country...

California and NY sound so attracting for me! :D

Happy St. George's Day to all you folks in Engerland and all who celebrate it :D :D

Thanks Feefs :) Gotta make St. George's day mean more in England than St. Patrick's day does, that's Ireland :D

Ah well it's over now for another year, but it got a hell of a lot more recognition that I remember in the past :)

EN-GER-LAND!!

For Noni it'd be harder to stay in US than UK, cos of the visa situation in US, would need a visa to work and stay..which isn't easy to come by unless Noni married an american, got a job placement there, or won the Green Card Lottery. UK being EU means Noni can come live and work here tomorrow without any questions if she wanted :)

*is so jealous of people living in England*

I would not be that jealous ...

As

England has it plus points, however the weather does make the people sad. People don't socialise with each other. as much was they should do. TV being in homes, has created what can be seen a gaiter communities.

This has had an adverse affect on society over here. Not everyone is as expectional as me or other people that you may have met from England. :P

This is so sadly true, when I go to Germany and visit Jessy, people we walk past in the street say "tag" (hi) and stuff, in UK, how many times have you ever said hello to a random person in the street as you just walked by and made eye contact? you just don't do that.

I try and say g'day to everyone in the streets. I can't identify most people here, they all look the same to me. So I'm never sure if I know the person I greet or not. :stunned:

I do as well. Its important to me.

Oh yeah, I know it would be easy to move to another european country, that's why I wanna move to England.

I fancy USA just for holidays, for now...

Yah, I still wanna try west coast USA..I spent 6 months on the east side....one day I wanna get a Chevy 57 and do route 66 from Chicago to LA.

Wooooow, route 66 sounds great!!

In which part of the east side have you been?

It has just dawned on me why there is so much, anti europeanism in the UK. The english people can only speak their own lanauage. May be if the goverment over here put more empheises on learning other lanauages and about other cultures. This would be a thing of the past.

However I do think this would take 30 - 40 years to notice any considerable change. !!!

actually, Route 66 doesn't exist anymore as a highway; but you can approximate it by using other highways; perhaps the same path exisits but under different highway numbers...but even that may not be the case.

and yep, in the U.S. most people you meet in the street might say 'hi' or something to that effect, some might even give you a smile. But it's not meant in any sincerity or in any personal way. I've read of many tales for new immigrants coming to U.S. who are shell-shocked that everyone they meet in public says hi or good day; even the store clerk would say 'have a good day' (even though it might be 10pm! lol).

Point is, in some countries, you don't just wish people good days or stuff like that unless you know them and you mean it. Perhaps that's the case in the yUK. It surely is the case in India...it doesn't mean you're less friendly to others or that you're unsocial. There's just a little bit different quality to life that you pursue....thus when i was new here, and everyone in school would say "what's up!?" when they would meet me, I frankly had nothing to say back to them for like a few months! :stunned:

I spent 3 months in the Philly area and 3 months in Florida Noni :)

The English are just more reserved lol we like out personal space, you know that 2 foot invisible barrier around you that only people you know should intrude.

Oooooh, Florida sounds fantastic!! Mmmmh, sunny place! :D

And you're right about english people being reserved. I noticed that when I was there, and I think it's more visible in the big cities. I spent 10 days in a little town near Sheffield and people there was more close than londoners, for example.

But I guess it's just something cultural, people here is more open. Maybe it's also related with the weather and the mediterranean culture... :D
