Seeing that avatar reminds me of when Tom had the same avatar last year during the playoffs. Gave me nightmares. :o

St George is also the patron here in Catalonia.

It's the day of the book and the rose, the lover's day here, as St Valentine's...

So, the boy has to give a rose to the girl and the girl a book to the guy.

It's a nice tradition... :smug:

I want a rose from someone... :/

St. George isn't to do with Britain, it's to do with England, it has nothing to do with slavery, racism, BNP etc...it has to do with pride your nation, in the fact you are English and you live in one of the best countries in the world. There is too much political correctness in this country that stops people from expressing themselves for fear of insulting other cultures. This should be the one day we can say "fuck that" and be proud to say who we are and not care about some liberal wishywashy in parliament saying we can't wave a St. George's cross for fear of insuilting the muslims, jews etc...

World Cup 2002, people were forced to take down a St. Georges flag at a car manufacturing site because it wasn't fair to other denominations...ffs, it was a flag for England at the world cup...that's the level of PC-ness in this country...so just for one day I wanna be able to be proud of where I come from without other factors saying I can't.

isn't the union jack the flag of england? *just wondering....*

oh, and by the way, as flags stand for something, they can have both negative and positive connotation, depending on one's point of view...

i always related this flag only to things naval...didn't know about it's other history, so to speak. doesn't the british navy incorporate this flag in it's insignia?

No the Union Flag is the flag of the United Kingdom (England Scotland Wales and N. Ireland), it is only the Union Jack when being flown from a ship.

English flag is the flag at the top post, Red cross on white background

Scottish flag is the Cross of St. Andrew, white X on a blue background

Welsh flag is a red dragon imposed on a white and green half

N. Ireland flag is different, the Green White Orange flag is meant to represent the whole of Ireland as far as I know, in relation to the Union Jack the flag of St Patrick is a red X on a white backround. Irish people can confirm this better :)

One of the cool things about living in England is.

The TV.

If you have sky tv you get good music Channels like Vh2 and The AMP which of which would quece the thirst for the musical tastes for the ppl on here.

Last night we had a programme called 4 Play.

4 Videos from Coldplay

4 Videos from MUSE

4 Videos from Richard Ashcroft.

Plus you get another chance to watch Eastenders. !!!
