Huh? Firewall? Wha?

Featured Replies

I keep getting kicked off the net and they're saying that it's because there's a firewall.

a) what is a firewall?

b) what do I do to stop it?

Merci beaucoup tout le monde! :)

Beats me girl. Wish I could help ya but I'm not knowledgeable with that stuff!

hahah..yeah, that's why i disappeared earlier. It kicked me off and wouldn't let me back on. Stupid firewall blah blah blah blah :D

firewall is a program that helps preventing your computer from getting hacked

I think it started happening once i installed a new Norton anti-virus. I'm guessing it's safe to assume that's causing it.

If you installed the full Norton pack, the firewall might have been installed too

Alrighty, i think that's what happened. Thanks very much Denise! :) and everyone else!

You´re welcome :) If it´s really annoying you, try opening the program options and disable the firewall :)

Yeah' date=' but if you have a DSL connection or something else that's connected 24/7, you should probably have a firewall.[/quote']

:D Yes, aboot....aboot..ABOOOOOT! It just rolls off the tongue. :P

Yeah.. I keep gettin' kicked off, and everything will keep saying this 'cannot be displayed,' bullshit, even though I'm ONLINE. And I just get randomly signed out of msn messenger.. Would this be a firewall, or something else? Because I've been having this problem pretty much ever since I got LimeWire..

Thank you Brian! That's EXACTLY what is happening to me!! Argh. Signs me out of MSN and doesn't let me back in for like, an hour. Stupid computer. :dozey:

Ahh. Well, actually, it only did that to me once. But it took a few minutes to get signed in again. :dozey:

But my internet connection keeps disconnecting.

It only used to do that once or twice. But now, it does it like, four or five times.

Yeah, mine keeps disconnecting too. Then it miraculously connects again, signing me back on to AIM and MSN when i'm not at my computer and people message me thinking i'm there. It's so annoying.
