[May 2016 Update] New site, members and more
Hey everyone, A lot has happened in the past few months that I would like to inform you all about. New Team Members As some of you may know, Syd, Sarah and Sha from newscoldplay.tumblr.com have joined our team. The trio have turned our twitter into a faster, more accurate and better page. A fourth team member has also just joined as a writer for the blog. Sneh or @mxylotos on twitter has taken over the main blog and is now writing informative and beautiful articles for you guys! New Site I have launched a new fansite for the band Foals! It is very similar to Coldplaying as it has a Blog (currently not active) and forum. Go sign up for an account on the forums and become one of the first members! Follow our twitter and facebook for giveaways and news. New Design The blog has been redesigned and it looks pretty cool! Many features of the site look much better such as ads and articles. The forums should hopefully be redesigned sometime this year as it looks a bit dated :P Coldplaying T-Shirt We have released a T-Shirt which is available here. Originally for the Coldplay T-Shirt competition, designer Fernando Degrossi decided to donate the design to Coldplaying. The shirt is being sold to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation as part of the Coldplaying 1.36 Project. I think that is everything :P We are still looking for a new facebook manager so send in your Résumé's at http://coldplaying.com/volunteer

[EXCLUSIVE] Interview With “My Life in Technicolor” Creator Sam Reid
If you have not watched Sam’s awesome video yet then go watch it now above! I was lucky enough to interview the creator of “My Life in Technicolor”, Sam Reid, who not only took a photo everyday from February 23, 2011-April 19, 2016 but moved his mouth in each photo to mimic Coldplay’s Life in Technicolor ii. Take a look at some of the questions below where I ask how he made the video, why he chose a Coldplay song and more. It is definitely a good read! Q: Hey Sam, congrats on your graduation! How does it feel to finally release the “My Life in Technicolor” video after 5 years in the making? A: It’s pretty surreal. Over the course of five years, taking a picture every night had become a routine, and while I always new I’d finish at some point, it actually felt like the finish line snuck up on me! I’m very proud of how the final product turned out. Q: What made you want to create a five year timeline of your life? A: A few years before I started, there were some popular videos on YouTube where people had done something similar (Noah Kalina being the most notable example). I had always been fascinated with those projects, but I wanted to put my own twist on it, and so I decided to add singing into the mix. Q: Did you find it difficult to keep it up for five years? A: Yes! While I never saw myself quitting, there were stretches of time where it was difficult to be consistent with the picture-taking. Traveling and going to bed later than my roommate also presented challenges! Q: How old were you when you took the first photo on February 23, 2011? A: I was 17 years old and was in the middle of my junior year of high school. Q: How did you calculate exactly when to open your mouth for the singing? A: I’ve seen several theories about this posted in comments online. It’s actually much simpler than people think: I started the iMovie project as soon as I started taking pictures, and would add a picture to the project as soon as I took it. By watching what I’d done so far, I was able to anticipate what shape I needed to make with my mouth for the next day’s picture. Q: How long did it take to edit? A: Because I added each picture immediately after I took it, the only editing I needed to do was exporting the video when I was finished! Q: Why did you choose a Coldplay song and specifically Life in Technicolor to sing along to? A: I actually started making the video with an instrumental song called “Everyday” by Carly Comando. A couple months in, however, I decided to pick a song I could sing along to, and luckily, I hadn’t reached the point where the lyrics started yet. I chose Life in Technicolor ii because I was listening to a lot of Coldplay at the time and it felt like an appropriate soundtrack to my life. I don’t know if this crossed my mind at the time, but looking back, I think the verse that starts “Time came a’creepin’…” fits the project surprisingly well. Q: How many photos in total did you capture for this video and which one is your favourite? A: There are close to 1,200 picture in the video (1,163 to be exact), each lasting .2 seconds. I really like the pictures when I grew my hair out, but I’d have to say that my favorite is one around the 3:48 mark where I tried out a really nasty-looking mustache and sideburns. I only had it for a couple hours before I decided to shave it off, but I made sure to get a picture before I did. Q: How on earth did you manage to keep your head in exactly the same position for each photo?! A: Since I used PhotoBooth on my MacBook, I would just try to position my head in the same position as the previous photo, and then flip back and forth between the two to make sure it looked good. As you might expect, I rarely got it exactly right on the first try and took several attempts each night. Q: Finally, what would you say to Coldplay if they were to see this video and interview? A: About 30 minutes before this interview, Coldplay’s twitter account posted the video, so I hope some of the band has gotten to see it! I would thank them for making such beautiful music! So I found the image that was on that site: - Fix You live debut in 2003???
I have no concerts listed on March 5th https://coldplaying.com/forum/index.php?threads/concert-directory.105306/- Your Music Collection
Everything: Here's the start of my collection, including the band's oldest and newest albums along with The Singles boxset. I'm more of a vinyl collector than a CD collector as they tend to be much more rare. The Rolling Stone magazine was a gift given to me by Christa42 :) Here is the rarest Coldplay item I own: Only 1000 copies of the Brothers and Sisters EP vinyl were made. Brothers and Sisters is one of my favourite Coldplay tracks which made me buy this as my third vinyl! Viva La Vida signed CD I received this days after I became an admin on Coldplaying. This was after we did our interview with Guy and Will, who I must say are two of the nicest people ever! We chose Thalia AKA batman on Coldplaying to represent the site and interview the lads. Guy made fun of my name by mispronouncing it a few times :P Will then asked one of Coldplay's staff to bring the CD to Jonny and Chris to be signed! By far this is the best Coldplay item I own :) NOTE: The AROBTTH CD has since been added- Your Music Collection
I do :D- Is Radiohead dead, or just hacked?
We don’t know much about Radiohead’s upcoming ninth album yet, but they’re embarking on a world tour in just a few weeks, and anticipation is building to a fever pitch. Today, the band have dropped another seemingly meaningful but oblique clue in the form of a mysterious leaflet mailed out to fans in the UK who have previously purchased items from Radiohead. The paper reads “Sing a song of sixpence that goes/ Burn the Witch/ We know where you live,” and it has Radiohead’s bear logo embossed on it. Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/NiallMDoherty/status/726330673104052225/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw So what does it mean? Well, “Burn The Witch” is the name of an unreleased Radiohead song dating back to at least 2003, and it supposedly contains the lyrics “Sing a song of sixpence that goes/ Burn the witch.” And as some enterprising Redditors have discovered, according to Germanic folklore, Walpurgisnacht — or “Witches’ Night” — falls on either 4/30 (today) or 5/1 (tomorrow), depending on the year. Radiohead recently started two companies, Dawn Chorus LLP and Dawnchoruss LTD, and International Dawn Chorus Day is held on the first Sunday in May, which also happens to be tomorrow, 5/1. So is LP9 coming out tomorrow? Is it called Burn The Witch? Who knows, but isn’t this exciting! Hear a little bit of “Burn The Witch,” which Thom Yorke has teased in a few live shows but never performed in full, below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uejn1f6pqMQ Mobile Link: https://youtu.be/Uejn1f6pqMQ UPDATE: On Sunday morning, Radiohead’s website slowly started getting lighter and lighter, and a few minutes ago, it disappeared altogether. They seem to have blanked out their entire web presence — all posts have been deleted from their Facebook and Twitter accounts, and all profile pictures and cover photos are blank. It’s still not entirely clear what it all means, but there’s definitely something going on. Source: Stereogum
