These are the only studio releases that have swearing so far, but of course there is also a lot in various live recordings and demos (notably "The Man Who Swears" 😄) I personally don't mind. In both the Everyday Life songs as well as in People of the Pride it doesn't feel gratuitous, but rather very purposeful to drive home a point/feeling, if you consider the issues these songs are talking about. I actually like it less when it's being used randomly while addressing the audience during live shows.

I watched the livestream and I have to say that I really loved the sound mix in this one, for me it was probably the best of all MOTS promo gigs I've heard so far because they finally turned up Jonny's guitar so you could hear the details, and also that bass drum was powerful! Chris played some new small piano improvs, for example in Clocks. Chris's vocals also sounded on point minus the usual lyrics mistakes. All in all a stellar performance for me, not to mention the beautiful visuals of course ⭐ Towards the end I did note those minor slip-ups as well though, during Coloratura the timing sounded a bit off and Chris definitely looked exhausted and a bit underwhelmed at the end. Probably there were indeed some technical issues in their click tracks. I also noticed he used lots of piano interludes to give the rest of the band time between songs, which could also be an indicator for there being technical issues to figure out. Nonetheless, overall a 10/10 performance for me and my favourite of the era so far!

I don't know about the Buenos Aires CD but from experience I can tell you that Windows Media Player gives me issues with lots of CDs. Why it would change this specific information I don't know though, because Birds was the song that replaced GPASUYF in the live video... Have you tried an alternative like VLC Media Player (free)?

Ah, gotcha! I understood final track as meaning the final Arabesque version, not the least track of the album. Because they started talking about Arabesque right before and Arabesque is a song that has groove and driving nature, this doesn't fit for the song Everyday Life imho

Wow really? Do you have a link for that? About Rescue Street, in one of the Together at Home livestreams in his home studio in Malibu, Chris had a guitar with that song name written on a sticker on it, and we already knew that Rescue Street was an unreleased MX sessions song because it appears as a song title in the MX pop up book and in an old MX interview Chris said that it was an attempt at an acapella song that they couldn't get right.

Also A L I E N S, Bani Adam and the piano at the beginning of COTW, and possibly more songs on Everyday Life - we don't really know which but the whole album has been confirmed to be a rework of the scrapped Wedding Album they wanted to put out after Viva. We also know they revisited an unreleased version of UFO and the unreleased Rescue Street in the sessions for MOTS, and these might be reworked and released in the future (although I wonder if Rescue Street became Human Heart, since both songs feature Acapella singing). But once again, I'm not saying reworks are bad. Everyday Life is full of them and is a masterpiece.

By that logic they should have called it quits after GS, because the album that followed was easily their worst, AHFOD. But after AHFOD came Kaleidoscope EP and Everyday Life. So you never know masterpieces lie ahead. I'm sure they'll finish off strong with "Coldplay". I do have to admit that sometimes, at this stage, the signs of the band aging cannot be hidden anymore. In their first decade their creative output was several times what they needed to release albums and even singles with many B-sides, so they could cherry-pick the very best songs. In their second decade they had just enough new ideas to fill albums without B-sides. In their third decade now, they are relying on reworking old ideas from the Viva and MX sessions to fill their albums. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's awesome that many cool ideas from those old eras see the light of day now. But it's also a sign of how their creative well is nowhere near as full anymore as it used to be.

Interestingly, music critics didn't care for Oldplay either. The early albums were acclaimed by some but rated poorly by others. So for critics, it seems the band really cannot get it right. But also, who cares about critics...

So he was a warner, you say? 😄 In all seriousness though, I fear that we will get more collaborations and less Coldplay content as time goes on. Chris even outright stated that once the band is done with their studio discography in 2025, they might do collaborations. Of course they are free to do what they want but this is worrying to me because I feel like it will be collaborations with flashy big name artists to get the occasional standalone hits, not the organic, subtle collaborations that we got on the Everyday Life album or even on Human Heart, for example. I recently scrolled through the ASCAP song database where all their music is registered and without even thinking about it, I suddently noticed that for the vast majority of songs I love and are masterpieces to me it says "Writers (4)". 4. Four people. That's all it took to make timeless masterpieces and huge, commercially successful hits when they were in their prime. As an artist myself (not music), let me tell you that there can be a massive difference between what you tell people/how you present yourself in public and how you really feel. My debut received mixed reviews and I was even attacked on a very personal level by a major publication, for no good reason except that I was doing what I love. Did it actually hurt and do i secretly care what people think of my work? Yes. Do I tell that to people in interviews? No, I tell them I don't care because I don't want to give haters any satisfaction. As for the descriptions in Youtube videos, I'm pretty sure these are taken care of by the label. So the label will of course try to paint everything in a good light. I can kinda see why it is experimental for a pop album. Songs like Human Heart, Biutyful and Coloratura are hardly mainstream and especially the juxtaposition of vastly different sounding songs make it Coldplay's most experimental pop album, but of course Everyday Life remains their most experimental album in general.

...or the fandoms of franchises like Star Wars or Doctor Who or some video games. At least Coldplay fans only fight about the band's musical direction, not about whether it's ok to involve people of color or women 💀 Also from what I've seen other music fandoms frequently discuss whether an artist's older work is better or not too. For Coldplay, it may be more intense because they pulled a 180 after the first three to four albums and those were considered already considered masterpieces.
