None. I have decided to go on a Coldplay hiatus yesterday, for at least a week or maybe more. I have been listening to the songs too much in the past few months and I need a break in order to fully appreciate them again...

Interesting ! I am personally a very melody-oriented listener, although the atmosphere or vibe of a song also contributes a lot to my liking a song or not. One of the reasons why I fell in love with Coldplay's music is that they are a melodically very strong band. They just have a knack for creating timeless melodies (the songs on X&Y are some great examples actually), and I think the moment I realize this the most is when I realized to different arrangements, e.g. on piano or orchestral arrangements. Then you realize the melodies they have written are just timeless and powerful.

Unfortunately, the band seems generally unwilling to revisit their older stuff. 10 year anniveraries - no way. I even doubt they would do a 30 year one like U2, but one can hope, at least for AROBTTH. Only got to wait until 2032, yay !

Just two of the new songs are similar to the style of AHFOD (SJLT and MSS) ! You should give the three other songs a listen, they are more reminiscent of the old Coldplay style (AICTAIY, A L I E N S and Hypnotised).

So sorry to hear :( It must be really hard if you grew up with the band. Just know that we are here to listen if you want to talk to someone about it. Stay strong :)

Agree. I haven't yet had the chance to listen to KEP in order from beginning to end, but with SJLT and MSS thrown in between the good songs I have the feeling it will be one of those releases that will be hard to listen to entirely.

I have to say I don't like the Markus Dravs A L I E N S Remix (and I'm a big fan of the original song and instrumentation/arrangement), but then I don't like any remix of any Coldplay song to be honest. The only good thing about this remix is that at least it stayed true to the dark, melancholic sound of the original song.
