  1. Not sure about acoustics... I love their earlier acoustic works but I feel that for instance the acoustic songs on MX were horrible (at least that's what I think) and did not have the quality of for example those of the Parachutes Era or even acoustic song versions of the Viva Era.
  2. White Shadows ? POC ? Up In Flames ?
  3. Just finishing Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day album. For the first time listened on CD, wow ! I really need to update my Coldplay library - think i'm getting used to good audio quality instead of YT rips...
  4. Nice idea !!! ETIAW ?
  5. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Today is a music day for me ! Gonna listen to many different things while working from home.
  6. Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother Suite :) on good speakers :)
  7. About Atlas, I don't like it that much. I think the Carry your world...and all your hurt part is OK, but I don't like the vocals on the rest of the song.
  8. Also, in that one X&Y interview they acknowledge that they had to make the songs together in a small studio room for them to be good. Now they are living in different continents....
  9. Yes ! You got it. I always thought "in the telescope lens" really sounds similar to "where the telescope ends". I chose this riddle because I really like that paragraph, it is so imaginative and vivid in its description and juxtapositions of things that make up the world. I think it really is somewhat similar in theme to Speed Of Sound :) Also, I wanted to advertise the really magnificent book this is from. My all-time favourite. Your turn, Nie ! :)
  10. I really hope they stay away from the recording studio as soon as possible now. I don't expect them to ever return to their old style, but if they don't stay away long enough we will get something in the same vein as their recent music for the next record (poppy, dancey, electronic, sugary). If they take a long enough hiatus I at least hope we might get something different one day.
  11. I hope they are gonna keep the songs separate on the tour. Mashups never really work for me, and I think the better part of Fix You are actually the verses and the organ sound at the beginning (they mean more to me, at least), so I hope this mashup won't make it to live concerts.
  12. Who else would like to have that lunch receipt with his email adress scribbled on the back ? :D (If I had, I know what I would do. I would ask him if Coldplay Could Play (LOL) I Ran Away live during the concert I plan on going....)
  13. I used to listen to What If in mornings before I went to work in 2014. I was so unhappy with my workplace that I needed comfort already before going there, it was unbearable. I don't think I shed tears to it but while listening to it I could delve in sadness and to this day it touches me deeply.....
  14. :( Don't leave ! I know some Oldplayers have been leaving but in essence you are thereby leaving the forum to the bubblegum pop crowd who got to know Coldplay as the band who did A Sky Full Of Stars...
  15. What an adorable card :)
  16. Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother Suite :) on crappy speakers :-/
  17. I'm not from Mexico, but I can imagine the band like the country....for example, the phrase "Viva La Vida" comes from a painting of watermelons by Frida Kahlo !!
  18. Didn't know that. That means we "discovered" Coldplay at almost the same time :D
  19. I think I'll do none of the two and just go on listening to Coldplay at work.... :D
  20. Hey @girl_in_the_band_tshirt , just wondering, did you receive my (heavily belated - sorry !!) Christmas present in the meantime ? :)
  21. Not UATW... I really love your idea, @alisbe ! But unfortunately that's not what I meant. As I said, there are plenty of words (bird, stars, crumbling, rolling, planet, clouds, ....to name just a few) in this paragraph that could relate to various Coldplay songs. Here is a good hint that should lead you to the answer: We're looking for a phrase that sounds almost exactly like a Coldplay line (homophonous).
  22. Yeah, I know. But the thing is I don't only listen to Coldplay in my life (lots of classical music and other artists too) but I realized I only listen to Coldplay at work (classical music and other stuff like for example Pink Floyd that I like often are longer pieces and imho not so suited for listening during work - for example, classical music usually distracts me from the actual work)...so I guess it was fear of being branded as "she only listens to Coldplay!" when in truth I don't.
  23. Nope... Here is a new clue: Homophone may not be meant as in a homophone word. Think broader....
  24. Just had a funny (and awkward?!) situation at work...colleague introduced new "system" of listening to music while working in a special room. There is a fixed Android phone plugged to a speaker and you just say "OK Google, play XYZ on Spotify". Then he demonstrated "OK Google, play MGMT on Spotify" and Kids started playing. In the middle of work he suddenly said to me "Oh, since you are here....OK Google, play Coldplay on Spotify!" and I felt a bit embarassed as Yellow started playing.... :D
