I always noticed that and to this day it bothered me every single time :-/ What bothers me a lot more though is that in recent performances he is totally off with the length of these lines. It gets real awkward when the audience sings the correct length and Chris is finished 5 seconds earlier.

To me, it does matter who the musicians are as human beings. As soon as I find out something bad about an artist, this negative undertone begins to stick with it when I hear the respective music. Doesn't mean I can't like a song by them, but it always hugely disappoints me. For example I like a few songs by The Mamas and the Papas, and I was very disappointed when i read that Papa John apparently abused his daughter. I still love those songs but sometimes these thoughts creep up and spoil it a little bit. I love Carl Orffs Carmina Burana, but sometimes I have to think of the fact it was huge in the Third Reich, and then I feel a bit guilty about it. I like "Poupee de cire, poupee de son" because I think it has a great melody, but the fact it was written by Serge Gainsbourg who was an asshole in many respects and that he snuck in sexual undertones without France Gall (the singer, then a very young girl) realizing them gives it a bad taste too, if you know what I mean. In short, I can listen to and even enjoy songs that were written by questionable people, but I could never call myself a fan of such an artist. It is not coincidence that of all bands out there I became a fan of Coldplay. I could enjoy their music, sure, but if they were a band that, say, had intolerant views, or were right wingers, or notorious for sleeping around with groupies, I would not be able to be a fan of them. The wonderful thing is that Coldplay not only are great musicians, but also great and very, very decent and good-hearted human beings. @Batman : Out of interest, which song was the first one you understood ? Was it We Never Change ?

My reasoning in All your friends was the "Will you go?" where it refers to soldiers drafted into war. Oh well, better do some more thinking....

I am a girl, and a song itself, even if it is very moving, can rarely make me teary if I am not already in a sad mood or have particular memories associated with this song. But if at least two of these factors come together, it can make me teary.

To me, his voice has been improving over the EPs and Parachutes (although i still love it very much there, especially its innocence and vulnerability) to reach its peak during AROBTTH and X&Y, and has since declined, first slowly (you can hear the strain already in some VLVODAAHF songs), then more clearly in MX and in GS and AHFOD it has declined beyond hope :(

Interesting to see that this observation was correctly made in 2008 already...look at him now :(

And now his voice and vocal abilities are damaged beyond repair, so sad... :(
