  1. Yeah, let's spice it up with a little Oldplay vs. Newplay discussion :P
  2. I'm so looking forward to those eliminations ! :)
  3. The scene's not that spectacular, and very short. But if you really need to see it - here :D https://genvideos.org/watch?v=Boyhood_2014#video=o4S72HP_cztGC3WdAMsP78uJGUB5MY97H2dPxKadZVI
  4. Not exactly a happy family but it starts with the boy lying on a meadow looking at the clouds, so it does fit :)
  5. On the Howard Stern interview after the release of MX, it's all on Youtube.
  6. I also wondered whether it means the film starts in 2000. Seems it starts in 2002, though, so Clocks or the Scientist might also have been an option...But then, Yellow is a more upbeat song :)
  7. Nearly...read that last half-sentence again :D
  8. No, not A Whisper... Thanks, I have really heard something now. I guess I'm not very familiar with Latin American culture, after all :( I just looked up the Wikipedia page for it and it seems it indeed coincides with All Hallows Day here, which has a similar theme but is a religious holiday. (Since I'm not religious I never paid much attention to All Hallows either, to be honest.) But now I've leartn something.
  9. OK I change my vote to Chinese Sleep Chant to save Prospekt's March. Nobody but me is gonna vote Str Sw anyway...
  10. I'm at the moment only 7 mins into the movie, it is a bit boring for now but I guess that's normal for a movie that presents everyday life rather than a distinct story. Let's see how it develops ! I had heard of Yellow being on the soundtrack some time before, but I wasn't expecting it right in the beginning. I know another song I like - Hero by Family of the Year - is also on it so I'm already looking forward to its appearance.
  11. Due to a high heterogeneity of votes, Shiver gets eliminated this round with only 2 votes. Don't you shiiiiver ? Shiver - 2 votes LiTii, VLV, What If, Trouble, Strawberry Swing - each 1 vote ! These are the remaining songs: Yellow Trouble Don't Panic In My Place The Scientist Clocks God Put A Smile Upon Your Face Speed of Sound Fix You Talk What If White Shadows Violet Hill Viva La Vida Lost! Life in Technicolor ii Strawberry Swing I still vote for Strawberry Swing, I just don't like that song too much.
  12. I jst begun watching the movie Boyhood online and I was surprised to see it start with Yellow :D
  13. #saveProspekt'sMarch ! If you don't understand why you should do that, just listen to the song again !
  14. I was already worried when AMDB wanted to change his vote, but thanks for sticking to the rules so rigorously @thetwinparadox ! I vote Strawberry Swing, it is the song I like least in that list.
  15. Hi, I always like hearing covers of A Rush Of Blood To The Head and I Ran Away ! :D
  16. But you can't deny most of their newer works are jumping on the commercial bandwagon of what is cool right now with younger crowds. Also, in earlier years they chose their collabs according to quality, now they choose their collabs according to popularity and hipness. As a whole, their newer work is less original and genuine than what it used to be. I agree with you and disagree that GS was the album were the others didn't shine at all, because it was basically Chris singing against a background full of artificial and synthetic, sometimes ambient sound. I don't know how much the others wrote of these sounds (they even used synth presets to a large extent, imagine that), but for example there was a clear lack of Jonny's guitar lines. If at least Chris's singing had been better, it may have made up for it but the way it is GS is lacking something. By the way, that Chris made it 40-20-20-20 some years ago instead of their early 25-25-25-25 indicates for me that he has grown to care a lot more about the money than earlier. For me, this totally fits with driving the band to become as commercial as can be. It's such a shame that all idealism seems to be lost along the way when people/bands become famous.
  17. Only 2 votes yet ! Please vote, people ! Where is everyone ?
  18. but I should know
  19. Oh, you meant All Hallows ? Sorry. I wouldn't have thought it is celebrated in Mexico. Sorry for my cluelessness and clumsy guessing :) Here's the new riddle: Charlie Chaplin's life wasn't. Neither was Laurel and Hardy's, even though they were at least two.
  20. Batman, it's too bad they makers of these discs didn't ask you and at least credit you for it with your name or pay you a certain percentage of all the profit they're gonna make through these sales. :(
  21. i had a smiliar thought recently. There's really a club or society for everything. Why not a group for singing and jamming Coldplay songs together ? Too bad I don't know any Coldplay fans where I live.
  22. I can understand you, Kidd. Initially I didn't like Clocks either because I couldn't connect with it and didn't like the main piano melody too much. But over time it has grown on me and is now one of my favourites (and I very much appreciate that piano melody now).
  23. Prospekt's March/Poppyfields has one of the most heartwrenching lines ("Here I lie on my own in a separate sky...I don't wanna die on my own here tonight...but here I lie on my own in a separate sky ) and Cemeteries of London has got one of Jonny's finest guitar solos ! Come on, save those two songs !
