I didn't like See You Soon when I heard the recording, but the Live 2003 version is so much better ! It's rare for me to prefer a live version over an album one, but here it is true.

Yeah, the soundcheck of Crest of Waves is promising indeed ! I doubt any of these songs will get any further than a soundcheck though, but then sometimes there are people filming at soundchecks so maybe one day....

It might be called by some of these junk outlets "a source close to the band divulged" "an insider reports"...and then I'm gonna think, wow, that's as close as I'm ever gonna get to the band in my life :D

For me, Politik is the best album opener, closely followed by Square One. Politik has a slight edge music-wise, I believe. But the lyrics of Square One speak to me on a more personal level (especially the lines that I posted)...it's for all those people who feel that they are stuck somewhere in their lives and nobody gives a damn about their feelings, it's so universal.

I don't wanna spoil your positive anticipation, but that's just one person's (in this case, @awardchris's) subjective opinion. There are plenty of Coldplay songs other people love and find great that I don't like, so the only thing I can really wait for is hearing it myself. Of course I will listen to the album when it comes out, but if all our indications about its sound and feel are right I will not buy it and there won't be much to look forward to. Even Ghost Stories had one song I loved though (Ghost Story), so I have faith in Coldplay for that one great song that will hopefully be in AHFOD.

You are very positive about AHFOD. Seeing the trend of Coldplay's music since 2008, I expect the contrary. It is highly unlikely that AHFOD will see a sound /themes from a time long gone by resurface all of a sudden. For me, it's not only the sound of their earlier works but also their themes and Coldplay have moved so far away from both. Unless you mean "great" in terms of good pop music, which is something they could achieve if they try har enough.

Yeah, it is a shame that almost everything from X&Y has been abandoned except Fix You (which is great, but not the only great song there) and Till Kingdom Come (which I don't really like). Square One, White Shadows,Talk, What If, Low, Speed Of Sound are all gems to me. Oh, and I wish they'd play I Ran Away live. Just once in their lifetime. Please. But I know it will never happen.

I think yours is from Live 2003. I remember seeing a similar image in the See You Soon footage but Iit could be anything else where he is not at the Piano. Is it See you Soon ?
