2. Just wanted to share this with all of you guys! This is a little photoshoot I did with my Clocks, Talk, and Fix You 7" Vinyl singles.
3. Here's some really good examples of sax solos.
4. It's their worst chart positions since Parachutes
5. Any1 else think that they should have released the album in January, or at least On or after Christmas?
6. OneRepublic, yes they aren't very unique. But Bastille and ID are still on their first and second albums. I wouldn't really consider Parachutes very unique (Like Chris said, a bunch of ripoffs of other bands).
7. Guess what. Coldplay has been pop rock for 3 albums now. And that's not counting the poppy songs they've done in previous albums (ex. The Hardest Part). But really, I think what Chris meant in his statement was about rock in general (including pop rock). Also, people who aren't fans of Coldplay would call them pop rock for all of their career.
8. Would you consider Princess Of China or A Sky Full Of Stars rock? Think about it. Then consider if you would count Counting Stars as at least pop rock. See what I mean? Also, search up any of Imagine Dragons' early EP's.
9. Well isn't that a great song to get stuck in your head!
10. ^ Jesus, what is with the criticism. I think the fact that these bands made it onto the top charts is a good thing. Can I remind all of you that Mylo Xyloto, Ghost Stories, and A Head Full Of Dreams exist? The bands I mentioned before have made songs WAY BETTER than Princess Of China.
11. Remember, Stargate is listed as co-writers of each song.
12. And what makes you think that the band actually wanted the album to be this way? Think of Miracles. It still reminds me a bit of Oldplay, In my opinion, on some parts. AHFOD is nothing like that. They may have trusted Stargate and their decisions a little too much, regardless of the bands own opinions. They must have thought that Stargate knew what they were doing and didn't intervene.
13. Imagine Dragons is listed As Alternative Rock on Wiki. Onerepublic is listed as Pop Rock. Bastille is listed as Indie Pop, but a big chunk of their songs can be compared to Coldplay.
14. During the mixing of Up&Up: Tor: Let's remove the piano Chris: What? Why would we do that. It's like the most prominent instrument in the song. Tor: Nah, trust me. I know more about the pop world than you do. Just keep a little left. During mixing of Army Of One: Chris: This song doesn't seem long enough. What should we do? Tor: Let's add this cool hidden hip-hop track with crappy lyrics to it so that the length is longer. Chris: I don't know. Our fanbase might hate us... Tor: We also want you to call it you're favorite track from the album on some interview... Chris: What??? How bout Birds, AHFOD, Or Up&U... Tor: [iNTERRUPTS] Do it or we're not working with you. Chris: Okay... Okay, we'll do it. Just calm down..
15. Guys, Bastille and OneRepublic are straight Modern Pop *Rock*. Just be glad their songs became hits among the other pop songs hitting the charts.
16. I can actually see a more jazzy AROBTTH. They should throw in some other instruments like trumpets, clarinets, and even add in a saxophone solo.
17. Someone put in a setlist on the AHFOD Tour Wiki Page. Is that legit or nah? (FYI it has Brothers And Sisters)
18. Someone added a setlist to the AHFOD Tour page. Any1 know if that's legit?
19. + Absolutely Love this song! My fav. Out of AHFOD. Reminds me of the Pre-Night Visions Imagine Dragons somehow with a bit of HLH magic. - Terrible, TERRIBLE ENDING. All the excitement that builds up to the finale as you listen is tossed away and leaves an ugly aftertaste. Murder
20. Definitely excited for this. Perhaps we will get some good acoustic songs from this.
21. ^Umm, that wasn't a b-side. It was released as a single so... + What a great throwback to the oldplay days. It's the "The Scientist/Fix You" song of the album. - I think a little more practice time with the vocals would have made it alot better. The electronic drum beats bother me too. I replaced this song on the album with the live version. Army Of One
22. To be honest, if they kept the album limited to "AHFOD/Up&Up/Birds" like songs, then it would have become the best Coldplay album (critically) since AROBTTH. Then Hymn's "drunk and high" lyrics, Fun's mainstream Taylor Swift-like acoustic guitar, and X Marks my Crap came in and ruined the album.
